I was recently diagnosed as a Type 2 and have since been looking for non-pharmecutic solutions. To be totally transparent, I take 2000mg extended release metformin a day. My fasting glucose is about 120-130 in the morning, but after only a 20 carb meal, spikes up to the 180 range. Taking one of these berberine and a Ceylon cinnamon capsule before each meal seems to hold it around 150 for the next hour or so. I wasn't getting that with the cinnamon alone. I normally buy my Berberine from my holistic doctor but these were such a great price that I decided to try them. The pills look exactly like the ones I was taking. Since I started taking 500mg of Berberine three times a day with meals for the past few months my Cholesterol levels & LDL have dropped from high to normal and my HDL has increased by four points. My blood sugar levels that were the high side of normal dropped a little too. Mountain Rock stands behind their products. My product was well protected and well packaged. I am taking it for my digestion and the antibacterial properties. I hope it will keep my cholesterol lowered because I never want to take a pharmaceutical drug for that. The pills are easy to swallow. This is a product that I can see using for the rest of my life because it addresses health issues that run in my family. Berberine HCI can be preventative for heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes and immunity protection. I have had no adverse affects and will reorder. I'm going to recommend this to a family member with PCOS because it lowers testosterone and can be used in place of Metformin.

I was taking Metformin for the last 14 year's of my life, but it was the one thing that was making me sick. I was dealing with pain, breathing problems, heart problems, and a whole lot more. My doctor prescribed this for me after being concerned that I was pre-diabetic. I was instructed to take twice per day but I am unable to take more than once per day, due to the diarrhea that it causes for me. My doctor said that was perfectly normal and actually told her it was working. I am staying on the one per day for now.

Can’t really give a good reviews seeing I’m taking this for Diabetes. Have to wait for my A1C test which is next month. But I can say I have had no side affects like Metformin was giving me so I am elated about that.

I have been using Berberine to control sugar cravings and weight management. It also really helps to control that feeling of starvation that occurs for me shortly after I eat a full meal - I think is from hypoglycemia I have tried different brands and this brand has worked well for me.
