I never write Amazon reviews…..I believe this may be a first, but I felt compelled…….I’m not going to lie, I’m not proud of myself. At the grand old age of 46 I found myself in the position of needing ‘a nice comfy shoe but with a heel….’ It’s for a funeral and I can’t wear a dress with converse for a bloody funeral, so there I was, looking for what, I believed, was the unicorn of shoes. Heels mean agony. Particularly when I’ve lived in trainers since I was 30, and ‘going out’ meant that if I couldn’t go in leggings and a hoody then I just didn’t bother going.So my searching online lead to me to these Clark’s shoes. Clarks. CLARKS FFS. Surely Clarks shoes are for school kids (leather T bar shoes, obvs) or for old ladies……aaaaaand I’m deffo not a schoolgirl, so this leads me to the obvious conclusion……<sobs>However I accepted my old lady fate and ordered the things.I mean, they’re a long way from Jimmy Choos…….but then so is my budget. And my instep. But they look OK. Not sexy. Not glam. But I guess that’s not the look I was going for at a funeral……I’m not Charlotte in SATC after all……So I try them on……and I’m not sure what kind of witchcraft is going on but they……..are………COMFORTABLE. Like, they kind of redistribute your weight from the balls of your feet to the heel. Like actual magic. I don’t know what Clarks are doing here but if they could just see their way to making these look a bit sexier, my husband may appreciate it 😂😂

I read the reviews before buying and ordered a size 6 (my usual size) and a 6.5. The 6.5 is perfect in length but due to the cushioning they're still a bit tight across the base of my toes (across the top of my foot if that makes sense!). So, I would say if you're a true foot size you need at least a half size higher if not a full size and that will depend entirely on the width and depth of your own foot. I'm fine with narrower shoes usually and Clark's have a reputation of being able to 'ease' after wearing around the house for a bit, so I hope that helps everyone.The shoes look exactly like the photo. They don't feel cheap, they do feel sturdy. The sole is a new type for me so I need to get used to the spring feel underfoot but I can say the cushioning is good and if anything the slight bounce makes impacts absorb better, if you're on the heavy footed side like me! Although I will need to wear these shoes in to ease the toes section I haven't worn them all day as yet. I can't comment on comfort for prolonged periods of wear, but i imagine the cushioned insole makes it easy.The seller was awesome, having got the 6.5 a few days before the 6 was due to be delivered I was able to cancel the additional order mid transit which is amazing. Just waiting on the refund going through. Packaged well within a shoe box and lovingly wrapped in thick tissue, this seller definitely knows how to make sure their goods arrive in top top shape.All in all a good experience and lovely shoes.Will see if I can add to this review in a few weeks to report back on breaking the shoes in and comfort following prolonged wear.

These shoes are so comfortable. Since covid I’ve really struggled wearing heels again . Almost gave up and resigned myself to wearing flats forever.However, these shoes from day one have been fab. I am on my feet most of the day and these are by far the most comfy shoes I have ever owned.

Size perfect. Shoes were as described.
