I love red hots in general but the freeze dried version is my favorite now. They have more crunch while still being delightfully cinnamony. I have to eat them sparingly or the bag is gone before you know it.

Would definitely buy them again. Love the crunch, just the right amount of heat. Only problem was I couldn’t stop eating them.

Love these. Just wish the bag was bigger

I bought the 10 ounce sized bag, and will be buying the larger 20 ounce bag once this bag is close to being finished. Freeze drying red hots definitely reduces the heat of the candy a bit, but to me, it's an improvement. The crunch is great, and the bigger the bag you buy, the cheaper they are per ounce. I've seen other reviews that complain these are too expensive and that the bag is too small, but they're in line or slightly better price-wise with other freeze dried candies sold on amazon. Besides, if you chose a 3 ounce bag, you shouldn't be complaining that the bag is too small! I can't submit this review without commenting about the Best By date on the package. My bag has a best by date of 8/24, and I saw another review that mentioned the best by date on their package was 2022 (and they bought the candy in 2024). Anybody who knows a bit about freeze drying food (or candy) probably knows that freeze drying is a way to preserve food. It extends the life of the food by many, many years, provided proper storage rules are followed. I can't be sure, but I believe the best buy dates on the package legally have to reflect what the best by date of the candy was on the original packaging, from before the candy was freeze dried. But freeze drying totally changes that, as it removes all the moisture from the candy. The moisture in the candy is what eventually makes it taste stale. Provided you store the candy properly (in an airtight sealed bag or container), freeze dried candy should remain crunchy and taste fresh until you finish the bag. One more tip: Unless you plan on eating the entire bag in one sitting, I would not recommend eating directly from the bag, as the moisture from your skin can be absorbed by the candy which can change the texture and taste. I also wouldn't leave this exposed to air for very long, as the candy will start to absorb the moisture in the air. I only wish I could afford a freeze drier of my own, so I could freeze dry some of my favorite candies and try them out. Until then, these will do very nicely! Sorry for writing a novel LOL
