I am happy to write a review on this product. My grandmother developed a pressure sore while in the hospital for over a month. It seemed to get worse and not better. In the hospital, they were using Desitin which did nothing. The wound care specialist said to use nothing, just keep clean with saline. After months of dealing with this and the home health folks telling me it just takes time, I did my own research and found this product. So glad I did! I read countless reviews, positive and negative, but thought I would take my chance. This ointment is ABSOLUTELY phenomenal! I secretly began applying this ointment, and things began to turn around in a week. The wound care specialist and nurse began getting excited about the signs of healing. They thought that their actions finally began to work. However, I had to burst their bubble and inform them of that I had been applying Terrasil Wound Care. All they could say is keep using it, which I was going to do anyway. Well 3 weeks later, it is completely healed. I wish I had done this 3 months ago! Yes, this product is extremely expensive and that is the only downside. But it Works! So it is Worth it! My only regret is not waiting to purchase more. I actually purchased the jar shortly after ordering the tube, thinking that the tube would not last long enough for the would to heal. Well, The tube was sufficient as I used it sparingly. Haven't had to open the jar I ordered so I've wasted money as I am not certain it can be returned. Still no regrets. Bottom line, if you have a loved one with a pressure sore, especially on their bottom, look no further. This is the answer.

I went down a rabbit hole on the web looking for wound care. I have an undiagnosed blister disorder on my lower legs and when they pop I tend to waste time healing by picking! So, I was looking for something to use that was not a medicated bandage I found Terrasil. I thought, all Natural and very expensive? This is never going to work. But I’m desperate so why not. I put it on the first day, covered it up and waited 24 hours. I was absolutely gobsmacked when I removed the bandages. It had to be nearly 50% healed in a day! Second bandages are coming off in a few minutes. These wept a lot more than the first ones so I’m curious what it will look like. This is absolutely worth the cost. I’ve now purchased the tub because I want this in the house always! I mean, yes I wish it were less expensive but for something that works, I’d have to say It’s worth it!!!!

Used Terrasil for the first time 2 days ago on a chronic leg ulcer secondary to venous insufficiency. I had been using a medical honey based wound care product. I experienced chronic and significant pain as well as profound wound exudate and repeated local infections. The amount of exudate contributed to maceration and overall compromise of the surrounding tissue. After 2 days using this stuff I have noted a significant decrease in pain, I can sleep again. I have also noted diminished inflammation as well and a decrease in exudate with corresponding benefit to the periwound tissue. This stuff is not the "golden bb". It will not resolve all your problems overnight and I never expected it to. It has however contributed to vast improvement pain and inflamation as well as local skin integrity in just two days. This, in my opinion, creates an environment for success that will help my body to heal itself and mitigate pain, inflammation, and fight infection while that happems which is exactly what I was hoping for. Very pleased thus far. I expect a prolonged healing time as that is the nature of this beast but I am optimistic that this stuff will contribute to speeding that recovery.

Despite numerous emails from sellers prompting me to write a review for Terrasil, I have delayed because the reviews that I find most useful are from long term users. I have been using the Terrasil wound care products for at least 2 years (I think?), so it's time to share my thoughts. It was tough to rate it. In some ways, I would rate it 10 stars if I could. But not so much in others. I will include details so you can decide for yourself if this product is a good choice for you to try. I have CVI (chronic veinous insufficiency) A leg ulcer on my lower shin bled for over two years before I got an accurate diagnosis. Ulcers typically occur in the inner ankle area, so maybe that's why the doctors took so long to identify my problem. I developed other, newer ulcers that were starting to really alarm me. The skin on my ankles, especially the left one, would itch and dry and flake off in chunks. I felt like my ankles were disappearing! My doctor commented "Well, the bone is not showing yet" and referred me to a wound specialist. He prescribed compression socks and told me to elevate my feet at night and whenever possible in the day. He did not recommend a wound care product but I went to Amazon to find a dressing with high ratings. I found Terrasil. Yay! (Thank you Amazon reviewers!!!). At the time, the cost was not a major factor because I hoped and believed that I would be cured pretty fast and have normal feet again. But over time the price of Terrasil has gone up A LOT. While much better, I continue to need some kind of wound dressing so cost is a major factor. I experimented to see if I could just use the compression socks and elevation to maintain my progress. But even one day without the Terrasil caused an instant reversal. (Going without compression socks also causes problems, so in my case, I need the combination.) So I bit the bullet. The holes in my ankles were healed and large chunks were no longer flaking off, so I decided to just be grateful for that and pay for the Terrasil no matter what the price. Until the Terrasil MAX in the tub (screw top jar) was NOT AVAILABLE on Amazon. I panicked! So I tried a tub of the regular strength. That was thinner and did not seem to work quite as well but it was close and definitely better than nothing. Then the prices were so high for the tubs that I tried the tubes (the product I am reviewing) and this is fine except you have to get every last glob out of the tube or you are wasting a lot of money. I have a tube right now that I will cut open with scissors so that I can get more out of it. So that's not great. If you have lots of money you can stop reading, because this may be the best choice for you. But if you don't, then read on. I have a stash of Terrasil right now, but decided to see if I could find some other product that might work as well or even better. At the first sign of a problem, I can always bring out my Terrasil. I tried Aquaphor. Totally useless for my problems, but a nice moisturizer. (I think it made my ankles worse) But then I tried a Medical Honey gel. So far it is working great! I do not want to name a brand because you might reasonably think I work for them. Well, I don't. Besides it is rare for one product to work for everyone. So read the reviews carefully if you decide to try the honey. I did and it appears I may be able to wean myself off the Terrasil. Yay! I don't necessarily recommend honey products if you have open ulcers because it requires more pressure to put it on. (Note that some reviewers do use honey for open wounds though). Right now I have really sensitive red ankles that look like I have a severe sunburn. I also have very dark freckly blotches all over both feet, but that doesn't hurt. I only use ointment on the red area where ulcers might form. An added bonus to the honey is that it is water-based and rinses out of my compression socks. The Terrasil is oil-based and I don't think it ever comes out of the laundered socks completely. It permanently stains them even though we use cotton pads between the terrasil on my skin and the socks. Socks average $60 a pair. Aside from aesthetics and sanitation, I have concerns that oil based products like Terrasil may break down the fibers and decrease the useful life of the socks. Well, that's it for now. Thank you SO much to all honest Amazon Reviewers. Hope this review helps someone. PS I am also soaking my feet in Epsom Salts about once a week now. Seems to help. UPDATE: After using the Medical Honey Gel for an extended time I conclude that while it is a fine product, the Terrasil is clearly a better choice for my problems. However, I will still use the Honey Gel sometimes as a way of containing costs. Of the products I have tried, Terrasil remains the clear winner. I will update if I discover a viable option that is less expensive.

I found this when dad unfortunately got a bed sore while in the hospital. Worked very quickly- and now sister is in need, again at hospital- always can rely for this to work wonders. Worth the price hands down. Seller shipped very quickly. (Needed it very quickly- huge plus) Thanks!
