Would’ve giving it 3.5 stars if I could, no instructions and after a hard half day of installation it rubs a bit at the bottom plate bc of sagging which it’s less than 100 pounds but anyways it works for what I needed it for so there’s that but I’m sure there’s better pivot hinges out there

Easy to install and adjust

Absolutely PERFECT for our hidden bookcase door. I’ve ALWAYS wanted a hidden door so in our basement we had one built and this latch is perfect. Shuts easily. Stays closed. Looks great!

This works as intended, seems well made. Not the easiest to install as a channel has to be cut into the door frame to accommodate the mechanism. My carpentry skills are modest. I used this item with the purchase of a hydraulic swinging hinge for the bottom of the door.

I'm an experienced woodworker and this product is fairly difficult to install. One problem is that the instructions are a bit lacking. The gap from the hinge end of the door to the frame isn't specified and it's better that you allow 3/16" or better or you might get scrapes unless you frame is dead plumb. It should be but.... The precision of your mortises is fairly critical. The mortise in the bottom corner of the door leaves very little material on the faces and is quite fragile until it's installed. Other than that, it is a very slow, smooth close, which I prefer to the slap back action of the regular spring hinges. The quality seems to be fairly good, overall, making it a good value for the dollar. Overall, I recommend it but only with professional installation. Not a weekend warrior type of item.

This is a quality, heavy duty hinge. It is only lacking better installation instructions, but with perseverance and ingenuity we ended up with beautifully installed, somoothly operating closet doors (5 of them). And a great value compared to similar hinges from other sources. They result in a sleek, finished appearance. Will use again when the need arises.
