Best Head Shaver on the Planet, Makes Shaving Easier & Less Time Consuming
I've been shaving my own head for 8 years and its been great to not have to go to the Barber Shop and waste $20-30 on a haircut, or deal with waiting to get a head shave and sit still in somebody chair for an hour. I like keeping my head bald and my face shaved clean, so shaving myself was the perfect option since I don't worry about getting linings and stuff like that as well. I used some clippers that were made more for face shaving than hair shaving, so about a year after I started shaving I bought the Oster clippers device and it's the only thing that I've been using the last 7 years. They've been good for a long-time, but overtime the process of shaving with them sucks. They've slowly started to breakdown on me and they're not good for my skin as I've created so many ingrown hair bumps on my head and just a few on my face. My bumps bleed a lot, and so when I shave over them with the clippers it's a nightmare. It's really tough to shave on the back of my head because that's where a majority of my bumps lie. Then the clean up process of the hairs all over the sink is a nightmare to cleanup as well. It's just time consuming and I needed a different solution. I watch a lot of late night TV and one of the informercials that keeps showing up is this Remington head shaver and the first few times I was rather amazed, shock, but very cautious as well. I've probably seen this commercial for a good year or two now and stayed on the fence of getting them. Then one day, I decided enough is enough and it's time for a change, so I started to do extensive research on them and finally decided to try them out myself. Boy oh boy was I glad I finally made the switch. This shaver is great and is as advertised, it shaved my face and head so fast. It cuts close too like I wanted, so it feels like my face and head are completely shaved off. It doesn't hurt either as you don't got to worry about stabbing yourself or nicking yourself. It feels like a massager as it cuts very gentle on your face. It cuts rather fast too and for someone who has bumps, when I shaved over them it didn't hurt at all. This is really needed for people with bump problems like myself because when you shave with clippers they will hurt and make them bleed. I no longer have to deal with that now as I can cut any area and not worry. They cut pretty fast too as I usually spend around an hour shaving my face and hair together. It literally took maybe 10 minutes tops, if that long. I don't take any chances, so I still put peroxide over it since it shaves close. I was so thrilled with the results as I hadn't felt like I had a shave cut that close since the last time I visited the Barber Shop, 8 years ago. My old clippers never cut this close before. The cleaning process was easy too, I love how the hair is kept inside of the shaver and you can easily dump it afterwards. That's the best part to me is that it doesn't create a mess when you shave, you might still shed a few hairs and that's it. Hair doesn't fly everywhere, I've yet to use it for manscaping my privates or underarms, but that's gonna be great too. It's 100% waterproof so you can rinse it with water. I still use my Oster cleaner to spray just because of the bumps being contagious. If you're having problems cleaning, you're doing it wrong. Make sure you charge it whenever you can as well. It's portable so you can carry it wherever you go and don't got to worry about it being plugged in. Be sure to wash your hair after every shave. Guys this is device is perfect, don't hesitate if you have the money to purchase, the price is beyond cheap for something this great. There's actually a new one out that I plan on getting within the next year at some point. I'm going to get my moneys worth out of this sucker first.

VERY happy with this Awesome Product.
Wow. It's rare that I am this impressed with a product. If you're thinking of purchasing a Balder Pro, just relax, breathe, and add it to the cart, you will not regret it. I've had mine for a year and its still working perfect. For about the first three months, I used it on the sink counter and didn't test the water proof feature. But after the first charge, I decided to simply shave my head after soaping up in the shower to save time. And it worked perfect and it was very comfortable. This razor now lives in the shower( past 9 months), unless it's charging and in ONE YEAR, I've only charged it it three times, the battery is awesome. This is one of those devices that truly makes life easier. It's easy to clean: pull the blades off when you're done shaving and rinse in the shower stream. The battery lasts for months... AND even when the red light comes on, you still have a couple uses before it dies. Like all electric razors, the Balder Pro leaves "Stubble" behind. However, its pretty short and you can 2 or 3 days without worry - depends on your hairs growth rate, but a weekend away from home isn't a problem. I'm so impressed and satisfied with this purchase, that when and if it ever dies, I'll replace it with another. Great Job Remington, I'm sold!

Game Changer!
A game changer. Sadly, I started losing my hair in college. I wore my hair on the longer side. At whatever point, I buzzed it and would progressively cut it shorter and shorter until I was using my beard trimmer without a guard. I did this for years. It basically cut my hair to a length equivalent to a couple of days growth if I’d have shaved it. I didn’t want to fully commit to the shaved look, but after seeing pictures of myself, I had just enough hair to accentuate my bald spots. I knew I didn’t want to look like that, so I started looking at the Pit Bull skull shaver. I quickly saw that they are unreliable and not a quality product for the long term. I then found this one from Remington, a brand with which I’m familiar and have positive feelings toward. Better yet, the price was significantly cheaper than the Pit Bull skull shaver. Remington has another model above this that I considered, but figured I’d start here. You can use it in the shower/water but I don’t really do that in my routine. Oh, my favorite feature is that it collects the hair in the unit itself, so I can literally walk around the house using it without worrying that I’m leaving hair clippings all over the place! I haven’t had to change the blades yet, but have seen knock offs and official Remington replacement blades, so I’m hopeful that won’t be hard to find when the time comes. Overall, I can’t recommend enough! It’s nice to feel a smooth dome after you shave.

Remington Balder Pro Electric Razor died but began working again a couple weeks later
Remington Balder Pro Electric Razor for Head XR7000A, first charge before using was 18Nov24. Today, 10Aug25, it was dead. Wouldn't turn on. Up until today, it worked well. I enjoyed using it. Edit: 28Aug25—the shaver began working again. Not sure what had happened on 10Aug25 when it wouldn't turn on. In the interim, I purchased the Pitbull Gold PRO GX5 head and face shaver. While the Pitbull shaver feels better in the hand, this Remington shaver provides a closer shave. There is always a bit of palpable stubble after shaving with the Pitbull Gold Pro, but the Remington leaves pretty much smooth skin. The Remington is also easier to clean. I had also purchased the skull shaver platinum rinse stand for the Pitbull shaver. It is essentially a reservoir of water with a stand to suspend the shaver heads into the water. It might be getting some of the fine residue out of the shaver heads, but it leaves a film of dust particles all over the reservoir and the shaver heads, requiring that the mechanism be cleaned again under the faucet. The Pitbull shaver also had a more complex mechanism in the shaver head than the Remington making the Pitbull more difficult to clean with a brush.

Better than Pitbull Gold PRO Skull Shaver
I used the Pitbull Gold Pro Skull Shaver for three years and went through several of them. It gave me a reasonably close head shave in the shower, had convenient base finger grooves for easy holding, and a digital battery display to alert me when to re-charge. But the product wasn’t well made and the battery would cut out or run continuously with no shut off until it was drained. Sometimes the blade head would spontaneously fall apart and send parts everywhere. Several weeks ago I ordered this Remington product when my Pitbull battery died again and a replacement didn’t arrive as expected. I was skeptical, because the $80 Pitbull seemed to get the job done with four rotary blades and Remington has five - but only cost about $54. I figured it would be a cheap replacement that I could use as a backup until I got a new Pitbull. But I must say I have been very pleasantly surprised. Although this Remington model has no digital battery display (a red light tells you when its time to recharge), it gives a *noticeably* closer head shave in the shower with less pressure and effort. (I can’t vouch for dry shaving but I assume the results would be similar.) The fifth blade on the Remington really does make a difference! I actually look forward to shaving again. Unless there are durability issues, this is my new go-to shaver for my spectacularly bald head.

Took a chance with the negative reviews; Works great!
So I had reservations when ordering this due to the large number of negative reviews and pictures broken. Ordered April 2024, and using it every week since, I can say that if take great care of this delicate device, it works very well as advertised. Here are some tips: - instructions say you must use every day or every 2 days: no more than 1mm. well, I've waited over a week with hairs over 6mm long and used it. I don't recommend this, as it hurts with all the pulling and also it is quite difficult to cut, wearing down the motor and battery on a single cut. I have settled on once every 3 days. - it says not to use for face. but since my face razor broke, I started using it and it does work. however, it does leave a lot of redness behind. - the battery lasts about 3 cuts of 2 to 3 day spacing. if i wait longer to cut, it uses a lot more battery and i only get 2 before the red starts. I also do NOT charge when the red light first comes on. I try to get 1 more cut out of it on the red light before charging. IMO, this has made the battery last as long as possible. - I tend to sanitize the head part with 97% isopropyl alcohol, after it's dried out. Recalling from decades past, you want to kill anything that could breed in the head well before it starts. MAINTENANCE: here's where I have a ritual that has keep the system going quite well... 1) open and empty by knocking upside down several times, making the move by holding only one of the 4 tips. i then rotate to another one of the 4 tips and repeat, working my way around all 4 corners (I do this a lot in other steps too). 2) use the brush, or a much larger nylon brush or even a spare toothbrush, and scrub all spare hairs after the knocking. 3) make sure to clean the base you removed the head from as well with that same brush. Then rotate 90 degrees and do it again. 4) now the "water cleaning" process starts, which tells me if there is going to be a problem or not. start with the head and hold it upside down, by one of the tips. shake vigorously, making the head flex. now for the important part: reach in and rotate each blade assembly while under water: IF YOU FEEL ANY RESISTANCE AT ALL, ANY ROUGH PART, KEEP WATER PRESSURE AND KEEP SHAKING! That rough or jamming you may feel is a piece of hair stuck in the blades: GET IT OUT! Do not stop until you can rotate that blade perfectly freely. 5) Now that you did 1 blade, do the same thing for each of the other 4 blades!! Yeah, this is the most time consuming part, but you know what: it cuts perfectly and has lasted 8 months of continuous use. 6) finally, water rinse the base thoroughly. i use my fingers to clean the crevasses. 7) place on an angle and allow to dry all day. As mentioned above, i'll hit it with isopropyl alcohol the next day to further kill any growth of anything, well before it starts.

Remington is hands down the best shaver on the market.
There is the Remington Balder Boss, and then there are all others. It is easily the fastest and smoothest shave on the market. The battery holds up for about a month, even after a year of operation. Easy to clean and maintain. The Freebird Flex Pro is acceptable, able to shave the neck without burn, and comes with additional attachments. It lacks the turbo mode that comes on the Remington, and dosent result in as smooth of a shave. Reviews claim subpar battery life. Groomie is absolute garbage. It does not shave to smooth, no matter how much time you spend. They auto enroll you in a “blade subscription” for $28/month, and will not let you cancel until after they’ve delivered the subscribed item whether you want it or not. They also do not offer return shipping. Avoid at all costs.

Overall great product
I try to keep my expectations reasonable, so for the price I have to say that this is a great product. It has been doing a great job at keeping my bean shaved. I love the fact that I can take it into the shower with me to shave my head and it does a very nice job for an electric razor. I have also found the ease with which you can clean the blades terrific. Either use the little brush furnished with the razor, or hold the blades under running water and flush the head out that way. It couldn't be much simpler. Make sure to dry the heads before reassembling it and I try to remember to oil the blades once a week per the instruction manual. An electric razor no matter how good will never give you as smooth a shave as a razor blade will, but this little guy comes pretty close. My only complaints about this item are that the razor does not hold a charge all that well and, I don't know if there is something wrong with my particular item or if it is just a quirk of the product, but it will not operate while plugged into the wall socket. (no, I'm not trying to use it in the shower while it's plugged into the wall) Sometimes I use this in the shower, other times I will use it after my shower or on a day I am not taking a shower. I have found with my razor that it will only give me about 2 shaves and it then needs to be plugged back in to be recharged. My gripe is that if I have forgotten to recharge it, I cannot just plug it in and shave using the power cord. As I say, it don't know if this is a peculiarity overall with this model or if it is just a problem with my individual razor. I could live with the battery life if I could use the razor while it is plugged in, but because I have to make sure the razor is charged to use it, I took away one star. As I stated in the beginning, the actual performance of the razor is very good and I have no complaints about the job it does shaving or the ease of cleaning. So, overall it does a great job, I just wish I could plug it in to use it when the battery is low.
