Simple assembly does take a little time to install spikes on each section
I bought this product because I got tired of birds pooping on my swings located in open area beneath my screened porch. So far I'm not seeing any new droppings since installing last weekend and the weather has been very warm this week with other bird activity in backyard. Installing the spikes one by one on each section does take some time. Recommend wearing gardening gloves and safety glasses as these are metal. On a few occasions I got distracted and didn't push the spike completely thru holes causing it to pop back out suddenly. Instead of screwing these to the location I used heavy duty clear construction adhesive because the location I wanted to place these was not easily accessible.

Work great! Time consuming to assemble
I purchased these bird spikes to keep the birds out from under our tiki hut on our dock. The tiki hut has support beams under its roof; the birds would perch there and make a big mess of droppings on the dock. The bird spikes are working great! No more bird droppings to clean up!There are some good things and some bad things about these. The good: Once assembled and installed, they are working great. I used a drill and screws (not provided) to attach the assembled bird spike strips to the wooden beams under our tiki hut. Because the tiki hut roof is sloped on the ends, I had to trim the tips of a few metal spikes. That was not hard to do. I used wire cutters. The plastic bases of the bird spike strips are held on very securely with the screws. I think they will last a long time. The not so good: I knew that assembly of the bird spikes was required. It was not difficult, but it was more time-consuming than I expected. It probably took me a couple of hours to assemble them all. You have to insert 20 separate metal spikes into the holes of each plastic strip, and there are 14 plastic strips. It took quite a while to assemble them all. This grandma’s fingers started to get a little sore with all that. It wasn’t difficult at all—it just took a little while. Also, you have to decide how you’re going to attach the assembled strips. There are several ways to do it including gluing, screwing, nailing, etc. but you have to provide your own supplies for attaching them. These spikes have worked perfectly to deter the birds so I am very happy about that. I would just recommend that you plan to assemble them in advance before the day that you are planning to install them.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review help to you

Warning
Assembly is horrible and dangerous. So be careful. I cut myself, bruised my fingers and several iron states flew across the room while I was trying to put them in the silver bar!!!

Surprised by how well these are designed.
Ships flat, easy to assemble and a great design. So far no more bird poop on my casement windows. Thinking about getting more for another location on a roof eave.

Simple but effective to deter squirrels
These spikes did the trick. My "squirrel proof" bird feeder was not actually. Placed a couple of rows of the spikes on the top of the bird feeder and now the squirrels struggle to access the food. Price is good for ease and apparent quality of the spikes. They are not 100% as some squirrels just crawl over the spikes - some abs! But mostly they are deterred and has helped greatly.
