The idea behind the design of the BKK-LONEDIABLO was to create the perfect single hook for lures. BKK’s latest technologies have been put together to give birth to this hook, equipped with top-notch penetration performance, long lasting saltwater corrosion resistance and an excellent strength of the hook structure. Review: These are well made hooks that should withstand saltwater for some time. They are coated in what appears to be a sacrificial tin layer that should protect the hook’s integrity for years. The hooks are very sharp out of the package. I hope they hold that sharpness over time. I haven’t had them long enough to comment on how long those points will stay sharp. I can say that the 13/0 size is great for halibut, especially if you like to actively jig for them. We typically use circle hooks for halibut and they work well if you leave a bait lying still on the bottom. Actively jigging with a circle hook works well to attract attention but you need to resist setting the hook when fish bite on a circle hook. The fish will hook themselves if you let them have the bait for a bit. These J hooks are different. When you feel a bite you can reef back and set that hook. Most of the time you’ll be rewarded with a satisfying resistance at the end of the line. That’s how it worked the first time I used one of these BKK-LoneDiablo hooks. It didn’t take long and I had a small halibut onboard (see photo). I’m looking forward to using them again soon. Review: Nice and sharp very well made but I have not had the chance to fish with it yet that is the reason I put four. from my experience I think it will work as it should BKK has not let me down yet I really like and trust there hooks
