This product is one of the worst products I have bought. If you need my evaluation, I will give it a bad evaluation because it broke down in the first week and when I started using the product, it was very hot. I do not advise people to buy it and I advise them to buy any other product.

Stopped working in the first 3 hours of use

Great little filter. Effective and silent. Unfortunately stopped working after a week and I followed all instructions precisely.

Very disappointed. The product that I received came with a broken motor propeller. There’s a lot of visible deep scratches in the surface even though it was well packaged (Product box with bubble wrap within another box). It seems I was given an already used item.

The carbon filters it comes with are crap, HOWEVER if you buy a separate roll of filter floss for 10 bucks and cut it into 170 pieces and drape it inside (like i show in the photo.) you can filter your water for only 7 cents a week. KEEP the black bio filters deep inside, (for good bacteria) do not buy carbon replacement filters, buy filter floss and you have a fantastic little filter for a very small 5 gal tank. I also added a plant for additional filtration, but ONLY do that if you check your filter daily as roots can jam it and that could be dangerous (so don't copy me there =p) Great tiny filter, very quiet!

This filter works perfect for a little Top Fin 3 gallon tank. I have a small tank set up for Corydora fry and needed a decent filter with an intake pipe. The filter that came with the aqaurium was trash, and I did not like it. It pulled from the bottom and kept sucking fry up. The first replacement filter that I got did not have a place for carbon or any type of sponge. This one is seriously perfect. It has a carbon cartridge with a sponge and also a sponge filter for the intake. It helps pre-filter AND keeps from sucking anyone up. The replacement cartridges are not expensive (6 for $9.99 or 12 for $14.99). It is very easy to clean and does not make any splashing sounds. It has a big enough area to add your own media, if needed. The carbon keeps everything circulating to avoid any funky smells. *I just put it in before taking photos, so the tank is not the cleanest.

This NICREW filter is pretty decent. It's small and doesn't take up much space in my tank, which I like (I have a betta named Bubbles, she loves it). The filter does its job well enough, keeping the water clean and clear. I haven't had any issues with the flow being too strong or anything, though sometimes I wish it was just a LITTLE stronger, you know? Anyway, it's easy to set up and use. (I accidentally put the sponge in backwards at first, but it still worked fine). It came with everything I needed, so no complaints there. Overall, this filter is great for small tanks like mine. The adjustable flow is a nice feature too, although I don't really mess with it much. And hey, if you need to clean the media, it's super easy and quick to do. You can't beat that! Definitely would recommend this one to anyone looking for a reliable and quiet filter for their small aquarium.

I like this filter as it is easy to assemble, it is safe for water not being able to absorb into the electrical box and cause major issues. It’s small and quiet. The filter functions well if you upkeep on your substrate or gravel. Otherwise you will have to clean and scrub this filter weekly (which I do anyways). I am thinking of upgrading to a higher quality filter that isn’t hard to clean and isn’t all plastic, which may be hard to find but in the mean time I am happy with this filter.
