This is the second microwave cover I've purchased - this one is a gift. I am purging ALL plastics and toxins (nonstick pans, etc.) from my kitchen and this product is replacing a plastic microwave cover I'd been using. It isn't too heavy for solid glass although you still need to be careful when lifting it on/off your plates from the microwave. I wash by hand but it does say it is dishwasher safe. It's a good value for the money and easy to store. I use it every day and am sure my friend will also. Works like a charm.

We use this everyday. It lives in our microwave and when its dirty it goes right into the dishwasher for easy clean up. I have even received compliments on the fact that it is glass. I have already recommended it to family and my only draw back is that it is a bit heavy, but I suppose that's what makes it durable. Would buy again.

This is a very nice cover, however it is very heavy. Unless you are fairly strong please reconsider especially if your microwave sits high above your stove.
