I’ve had my eye on one of these for a couple of years, but always differed. Then the new XL Connect came out and it’s the beginning of summer so I went for it. It’s absolutely great, I was concerned about flavour etc being electric, I need not have worried, if I served up anything I have cooked to you and you did not it was on electric you would never know, smoker is great, be warned it really does impact the smoke flavour, on slow roasts for a couple of hours or more no problem, on shorter cook stuff, I’m having to temper it so it does not over power. The smoker is not a gimmick. It really does add the smoke flavour. The app is fantastic, I’ve set stuff slow smoking and then gone up the woods with the dog and can adjust accordingly if need be. How cool is that. I had the problem with it tripping out on the ignite feature for the smoker: done some googling and realised in my case it was because I was using a 25 meter extension cord on one of them spindles but only uncoiling 5meters which is what I needed, I never realised that when coiled it really reduces the charge it can give so the Ninja was tripping out. I bought a 5 meter extension so now it is fully uncoiled and not a problem since. When I turn the Ninja on I hit reset, then test which then clicks and reset again. Happy days. Just mentioning as I have seen some people mention it tripping out so this could be your solution. If you are umming and arring on this. Go for it, it cooks so well and loads of flavour and meat always really tender, like the best barbecue you ever done each time with none of the hassle.

Let's get the bad out of the way first, on arrival it didn't work on smoker, as others have found the trip plug simply cuts out at the end of the ignition cycle. The trip is set at 10ma which is no doubt great for safety, but no good if it doesn't work. Trouble is by the time you have discovered this you have probably thrown all the packaging away and in any event sending it back won't help as a replacement will almost certainly do the same!My outdoor supply has a 30ma, so I simply put a plain plug on the unit and bingo all works as it should. An alternative would be to take the existing trip plug off and replace it with a unit rated at 30ma, in either case of course that will almost certainly invalidate your warranty!Despite this problem I've given it 5 stars, first trial of burgers and sausages cooked in just 18 minutes from semi frozen, and I can honestly say I've never had bbq this well and evenly cooked, and the smoking was really effective, again something I've never been able to achieve on our gas bbq with wood chips. I'm so impressed, I'm going to move our gas BBQ on! Playing with the phone app was great as well, I think it will be even better when I use the probe, and will probably order another as we cook different meats at the same time.Be prepared to change the trip plug and you won't be disappointed, recommended.

Easy to assemble. Good instructions and we have used the smoker, the grill and the air fryer and everyting turned out well. Great product.

I use it all the time. Rain or shine. It’s powerful and I love that I can see and control it on my phone. This XL one is a big puppy but I still stick it in my boot and take it to family dos. My other half wasn’t convinced. He likes to dabble with coal and fire, as men do, but even he admits he can relax more at ‘bbqs’ now as it really is low maintenance whilst keeping a good flavour. Deffo glad I brought it

I've never managed to cook anything on mine. Everytime I turn it on it trips out and blows all the electrics. I've looked online and hundreds of people are having the same problem, some people are on their 3rd or even 4th piece of equipment and it's still doing it so save you money and don't waste your time.is a scam, the company is aware , apparently the lead is too short and they've got faulty RCDs in the UK. Doesn't help with the fact I've gotta return an enormous pice of kit to get my m9ney back. Absolutely discuted
