what is the max distance this unit will test?

I am assuming you are talking about the laser. From my experience, it is only short distance such as a fiber enclosure. Or pig tail inside the node.

Is it supposed to come with an adapter for sc and st? mine came with no adapters. how to connect st to the meter?

I did not receive one either. I can not find one made for it. But it was pretty accurate compared to my old light meter with blue and green.

Is there a digital version of the user guide? My unit didn't come with instructions.

Not sure. The great part is it only does basically 3 things. play with the buttons for a couple minutes you know more than the manual. 1) cable fault locator (red laser/on off). 2) function key sets db reading (check light level). toggle to RG45 you can check for faults on ethernet. That’s it, good luck
