Good quality, functional water proof bag.
Strong material, sturdy zipper reinforced with velcro, definitely water proof as we traveled through several down pours and everything stayed dry - took note to mount with flap opening at rear of the car, not facing front which may have helped keep the rain from being blown up and into the zipped area. Fit a good amount of our outdoor stuff we didn't want to carry in the car; folding chairs, canopy, buckets, shovels etc... straps were strong and held up perfectly without added help of any bungee cords. Used with a YOULERBU Car Roof Non-slip mat, fit our 2013 Nissan Pathfinder perfectly. Would recommend, would buy again.

Exceeded my expectations!
This worked better than expected on a 17 day, 6700+ mile trip! First concern was leaking: I bagged everything in trashbags before packing; completely unnecessary! Our 2nd day on the road we had torrential rain & everything was totally dry. Somewhere around day 8 we took it through a selfserve car wash to clean off the bugs. Again, completely dry. Day 16-17 it rained off & on all day.... yes it was still dry when we got home! Tearing: We did 6700+ miles over 17 days with some real temp extremes. Packing & unpacking almost daily. There isn't a tear, sag or crack anywhere. I grazed an overhang, no problem! Securing to the car: Tie a knot to the end of the tiedown strap so it doesn't pull through the fitting & you're good to go. The clasps are seriously tight & stayed that way the entire trip. Originally I distributed our gear level. Then I packed low in front, higher in back, creating a more aerodynamic wedge. It stayed put regardless of how it was packed. Overall, great product. Impressive performance IF & WHEN its closed completely & tied down tight - not straining.

I received it quickly and in good shape. The cargo bag came with a storage ...
I give this product 4 stars at this time. I have had a chance to inspect it, but have not tested its capabilities since I plan to use it in the next few weeks. I received it quickly and in good shape. The cargo bag came with a storage bag to be stores away in when not in use. This will be good to use to protect it from any damages of being punctured by sharp objects while not in use. The cargo bag appears to be made of good quality. While checking out its features and size out of the box and on top of my vehicle I found the black material gets out quickly and is a bit difficult to handle in higher outdoor temperatures. I would suggest moving your vehicle into a covered or shaded area before planning to pack it especially on hot days. I own a Mazda CX-9. The cargo bag fit easily between the side rails on the roof of my vehicle, however I also have removable front and back rails that may need to be taken off when the cargo bag is in use. I have seen pictures of other cargo bags sitting on top of the rails since the bag is bigger than the rail space allows. I would have to test this out in my travels. It seems that the gap that would be created under the bag would create an area for wind resistance and may affect the way the vehicle operates, making it less aerodynamic than it already will be with the added bag. Also, the cargo bag has two strap clips on all 4(8 all together)sides of the bag. If the front or back rails are removed then the straps are no longer in use, this would leave 4 of the straps not being used and with no where to go since they can not be removed. For this reason, I plan on removing just the back rail and securing 3 of the 4 sides of the bag to allow for added security and less wind resistance.

Easy to use
This cargo bag worked fantastic on our trip to the beach. We had it loaded with about 6 duffle type bags of clothes, 4 beach chairs, and beach toys. There was still room for more! It held up through many rainstorms. It didn't budge an inch. It stayed very dry inside. It folds up nicely when empty too. It is very thick and sturdy. Highly recommend!

Good product for the price
We bought this for a family camping trip in the South and after our first use, we are pleased with it. First off, it is an improvement from the soft-sided cargo pack we used to own (a different brand) as it has 4 more tie-downs and the tie downs have the waterproofing material around them - which the pack we had before did not have. This pack does hold a fair amount. We were able to pack a large Rubbermaid tote in just under ½ of it, and then could load additional items in such as a large camping stove, sleeping bags, and folding chairs. We were still able to slide our folding table and even some boogie boards on top which was great! The plastic clips made it easy to fasten on as well (although I do wonder how long until one or more of them break). We did drive through some rain -but not heavy downpours so I can’t say it’s a great water-proof pack for any use but we didn’t have any water come through which was great. That said, we have learned from our road trips through the South that it’s not wise to count on waterproof rooftop storage so we pack everything in plastic boxes and/or cover them in garbage bags or the like (we store our sleeping bags in old comforter bags and those seem to do well for keeping most water out). We learned on a previous trip through Florida (with a different brand cargo pack) that arriving at your destination with wet clothes isn’t worth the risk. I would have reviewed this either way but as other reviewers have stated, a review is required to activate the 2-year warranty.

Not as waterproof as I had hoped
I was traveling from California to Massachusetts. I strapped this down in my truck bed so I could leave suitcases that weren't needed daily in the truck without fear of being stolen. It did that part flawlessly. However when I got to my final destination I undid my zipper locks and found water in it. I don't know how long the water was in there but the odor was pretty strong. It was secure and seemed durable but did not prove waterproof.

Amazing for family trip
Great for a family trip! We put all of our large items into the bag and attached it to the roof. I couldn’t believe how much extra space we had in the car and it was such an enjoyable trip. It rained the whole drive and everything stayed dry and secure. This is a great product at an excellent price! Also made packing up stress free.
