ASICS offers their legendary GEL cushioning performance in a bright, bold package. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Nice General Fitness Shoe *Disney Edit*
Overview: I'm not a runner, I wear sneakers as a daily shoe for pretty much everything but the only running I do is when I'm trying to round up the dog. I have differently sized feet, mildly flat but with one foot flatter than the other, this means my left foot will feel a shoe's arch support more acutely than the right. My left foot is also very slightly smaller which can sometimes make a fit difficult for both feet.I've been trying to find a good replacement for my Saucony Grid Cohesions, and while I consider Saucony shoes some of the most comfortable available, they're hard to find in local stores so I decided to give Asics a try. I utilized a shoe store to try Asics in another model (they didn't have the Surveyor) hoping that the approximate size would translate across models, and I lucked out, the shoe from Amazon fit perfectly. The Surveyor feels pretty good overall, the arch support is "medium", not pronounced but not absent. I of course feel the arch more in my left foot but not to the point of pain or even being bothersome, I notice it but it's not a constant presence in my mind as I walk. The cushion seems to be about what I am used to in Saucony, it's got just the right amount of firmness but when I test it by slowly and deliberately pushing down my heel as if I'm taking a step, there is a good cushiony feel. The shoe is fairly light, not as light as my Kinvaras but decently light, it actually feels heavier on the feet than it really is, I believe because of the sturdy construction. The toebox is just a bit tight but I fully expect it to give a little over time as it is a brand new shoe and doesn't have much mileage. The size and material construction of the toebox is almost identical to my Saucony Cohesions, and the Cohesions very quickly conformed to my feet where they needed to. My feet are a little bit wide but rarely do I ever get a width larger than 'D' because I don't like the wide boat-anchor look of such a shoe. The toebox isn't as tight as say, Armour running shoes or some Nike's, but definitely not as wide as a Puma or New Balance. The support seems pretty good, again I'm not a runner so I can't get technical in this respect, but the shoe is very solid and grips tight to my foot, doesn't squeeze or rub anywhere and I don't notice any seams or edges. I do suffer some slippage in the heel of my left shoe but that's due to the slightly smaller foot, the right shoe doesn't slip at all so I just deal with it.My feet actually size out at approximately a 10 but I've always worn an 11 in a sneaker; I'm on my feet all day long, I like to have the extra room. I'm not sure how you would take this sizing into account if you were looking for a correct size in your own case, I guess take the advice of others here and size up.**Disney Edit**Took these shoes as my main footwear for a week long Orlando excursion including the Disney parks, Sea World, Universal Studios, etc. According to my Microsoft Band fitness recorder I traveled 11-13,000 steps a day averaging about 8 miles per day in distance, and I can say for being brand new shoes these Asics did their duty admirably. I used light polyester fitness socks with the shoes and suffered not a single blister, hotspot, rawness, or injury of any sort, in fact I didn't even notice having sore feet just from mileage until the end of the day. The shoes didn't feel heavy or constricting and provided both a quality level of comfort and enough cushion to soften walking on asphalt or concrete all week long, sunup to sundown. There were not interior edges that rubbed and my flat feet didn't have any pressure sore-spots from the shoe's neutral arch support. My last Disney trip was in a pair of Mizuno Waves that weren't nearly as comfortable, the Asics held their own and then some and will be on my feet for an upcoming vacation in March.

Great cushioning
I've been running for 41 years and still going strong. My last half marathon was in 1:40 and change. Obviously I've tried many shoes over the years. There is no one shoe for everyone as we are all different. From weight to bio mechanics but if your major need is for cushioning then this is the shoe for you. For the last 15 years or so I have always replaced the insoles with gel insoles sold separately. They add about 3 ozs to each shoe which is not good for racing. These are the first shoes that I have tried that I don't need the insoles. It has enough cushioning own. The lighter shoe makes me feel like I'm running on air to the point where I still use the older heavier pair as a training aid. I have never paid the big bucks for shoes and in the 41 years of running I have never missed more than 6 weeks at any time due to injury and that was back in the eighties. See you out there!

Poor Durability
I have used ASICS athletic shoes exclusively for the last 9 years. My previous pair lasted 4 years and withstood 3 indoor soccer seasons and hundreds of miles of running on asphalt. I purchased the Gel Surveyor 2 for work purposes. I work standing up for 13 hours a day. The fit was amazing and they were quite comfortable. Within a month, the material surrounding the heal had worn down and produced a tear in both shoes. Having not ran a single mile or done anything athletic, I was/am highly disappointed. Perhaps I just received a defective pair. There is no way to exchange this product or get a refund on Amazon or on the main ASICS website. On a more positive note, I found a nice pair of NIKE shoes that has lasted longer than a month.

... other Asics shoes from Amazon and the fit was better and more comfortable overall
I have purchase other Asics shoes from Amazon and the fit was better and more comfortable overall. The color scheme is bright. I had to put in arch supports as without them they were somewhat rigid and lacked support.

Solid Build
Beautifully constructed sneakers reflecting the traditionally durable designs (that is progressively disappearing). Since my YMCA is closed due to Covid-19, I use my size 8.5 sneakers for night-jogging on sidewalks so, to spear my knees and lower back, I separately bought Dr. Scholls Sport insoles and replaced the not-soft-enough original ones. Overall, the shoe sole is on the rigid side (perfect for outdoor exercising vs. gym workout).

My feet are happy!
I have back problems that are slowly residing so I needed good shoes to start walking and jogging in. These make running fun again. They are light, beautiful design and color, practical and feel really comfortable. Most of all, they provide the support I expect in a shoe at this price range. I jog on the treadmill and outdoors. I can only say they make fitness enjoyable while providing all the things that I need as a novice. Five miles in the morning and 3 in the evening. My feet are happy.

Excellent Running Shoes!
Shoes fit great and are true to size. Good stability. Gel cushioning makes running on hard surfaces much more comfortable.I purchased and returned 3 other pairs of running shoes before finally finding these gems. Highly recommended.
