Works as expected
I like ATEN's KVM, and I have been using their products for many years. I finally upgraded from my old unit to this model, which is durable and easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Doesn't support 4k on 2 monitors
Doesn't support 4k on 2 monitors although it says 4K on unit. I have tried multiple cables, cable order, different monitors and I'm pretty dissatisfied after a year of running this unit. I finally chose my secondary monitor to just be blurry. It seems one monitor using 4K is the limit and my other monitor wants to run at low resolutions and looks completely blurry. I purchased this to work from home and conserve space with a work PC & a home PC at the same desk- considering going back to 2 desks.

Great unit, needs Remote
This is one of the better units I’ve tried. USB and video are great. Needs another way to switch between systems.

Beware if connecting a USB hub to this KVM.
Overall this device works well as a KVM with some *strong* caveats. Because it is quite expensive, I wanted to post a review for others who might purchase this to save them the headache I've gone through. Here is my setup: 1 Mac and 1 PC connected to 1 4K monitor and a 7 port powered USB 3.0 Hub. The computers are in a closet hidden away from the monitor/keyboard/mouse/USB hub setup. On the surface this seems like a pretty simple setup that a KVM should be able to handle, but because of USB 3.0's limitations, I went through hours of troubleshooting before I understood exactly why only 3 of my USB ports were not working on my hub. Here's what I discovered:If you connect a 4-port hub to this KVM, it will likely work. If you connect a 7 or 10 port hub, only 3 of the ports will work. This is because USB only allows you to nest USB hubs (i.e. daisy chain) 5 layers deep. 7, 10, and more port hubs are actually sets 4 ports hubs internally nested together. If you have a monitor with a hub in it, don't bother trying to connect that unless it's directly connected to the ATEN, because monitors might actually have multiple hubs internally, as my Samsung does.My criticism of this ATEN device is that, rather than creating a product that truly switches between USB ports, they've embedded a hub in the device. If you read the manual you'll understand why they did this. They consider it a feature that allows you to connect peripherals at the KVM. What I found was that it made the product unusable for my purposes. I had to purchase a USB 3.0 switch instead which I stuck to the top of it. Now everything works. It would be wonderful if they would add a feature to turn *off* the internal hub and just use it as a true switch. To fix this issue, I don't use the USB ports on the device. Instead I use a switch which has proven very reliable. The switch I use is https://www.amazon.com/Port-USB-Peripheral-Sharing-Switch/dp/B00DNULHHYGood luck to you all in your setups! Relieved to finally have mine working... although it was a huge pain.
