It is basically precooked corn meal. However on the package they say may contain traces of wheat etc. so I guess it would depend on how sensitive one is. It seems there are a lot of wheat free products out there that add this disclaimer to cover liability. My husband cannot eat gluten and he enjoys this. I hope this helps you.
