after research, the very best product in this price range.
rarely give 5 stars, but this product was perfect for what I needed. looked at several designs until I decided on this. the litter box and feed were always in the way. I have an enclosed porch with a solid door. perfect spot! other models required cutting of cheap plastic to fill the void between the front and back sections inside the door. this unit is designed to perfectly fit together, without having to figure that out, the front section is molded to cover the inside of the door, whether solid, or hollow. the instructions are concise, and I installed it in about an hour. (I like to be precise). this unit would not work well if you plan a pet door that leads to the outside, there are models with this manufacturer designed for that. the locks, though not heavy duty, work well, as options to contain you pet. it took about two days of gentile coaxing, and that was it! (I think it helped that its a French door with windows, my cat could see her food and liter box). the door is quiet, (it sounds like a drawer opening), and the weather stripping, (strong selling point, as my front porch is unheated), is very effective, as the magnet to keep it closed is a good strength. my hint?, install the unit with the locks facing out, the unit looks "cleaner" inside the house. well made, easy install, clean design, and no more smell in the main house. p.s. the smaller version would work just fine for normal size cats, this one is large enough for any medium sized critter you may adopt in the future....... egads........

Great quality and easy to install
This was the easiest install project I’ve ever done. And the result was great. Much better quality than the Lifepul Cat Flap I purchased previously. The template was a rigid card with a self stick strip that made it really easy to work with. The door operates smoothly and doesn’t stick (unlike the other that I had to trim and alter to get it to work). The locking mechanisms work as they should (again, the other one had defective locks and were hard to slide). The magnetic hold is just right to keep the door closed. My cats all eventually figured it out although my dumbest cat still struggles with it, but succeeds. I installed this on the solid lowest panel of an exterior glass/screen door to a screened porch which consisted of a thin aluminum veneer filled with a foam type core. The thickness was just right but I see where they’ve provided options for thinner doors by simply trimming the plastic, which could be difficult. Fortunately I didn’t have to do that. It looks very clean and finished, like it’s been there forever. Nice product I would definitely buy again.

my poor kitties would have to crawl through the door's bottom ...
I bought this cat door to put in my bedroom door. Before the door, my poor kitties would have to crawl through the door's bottom crack (4-5 inches) to enter my room if the door was closed so I knew that this would fix that problem. I think for the price, you're getting a good product. Both my cats fit. I'll include some photos to reveal the installation process. Pros: -Cat's don't have to crawl through door cracks. -Quick installation if you have all the right equipment, and person to help. -Once you cut out the hole, the rest is really simple. -Includes a stencil to trace out the hole to begin with. Make sure you think carefully about where you want the whole to be before you go through with tracing the outline. Don't be dumb like me and use a permanent marker unless you're confident you won't mess up. -The locks work. they're a teeny bit flimsy but I don't mind. I don't use this feature often but it's nice to have just incase I'm trying to keep one of the cats out. - My chunky cat fits. He's around 15-18 lbs. Con: -These come with little plugs to conceal the screw holes. The problem is that they fall off to be lost forever. -With my dad's help, he was able to cut the hole out in just a couple minutes but he had the proper tools, if I were the one that had to cut the hole, I think I would be at the task for hours. I may have had to take the door out of its hinges. Worse I feared that I would've ruined the door. I'm speaking as someone who isn't at all "handy". -No other concerns.

Good door, but I over-bought....
So, I wanted a simple cat door for an interior door so that my dog would stop eating the cat food. I didn't care about insulation, locking mechanisms, magnets - turns out, I just wanted a door that swung freely from both sides. I'm sure such a door exists, but I bought this one not knowing exactly what I wanted, and I was determined to make it work. Anyway, the good - it was very easy to install, looks great, and operates just as it's supposed to. I popped the door off, drew my outline, cut the door, screwed in the cat door, popped the door back on, all in under an hour - and wala, instant cat door. The only problem - all 3 of our cats didn't get it. We went through some "training" and they could kinda use it with some prodding, and if left in the room, they'd eventually figure their way out, reluctantly. But since both their food and cat litter were in the room, I didn't want to run the risk of stressing the cats out too much. The main problem seemed to be that it "sticks" - mainly because of the built-in magnet, and also the felt strip around the door. So, after a couple days of skiddish cats, I went to work to remove the magnet. This was a bit challenging at first, but the easiest way seemed to be to remove the entire plastic border around the one side of the door with a pair of needle-nosed pliers and a screwdriver. Once that's removed, you can pry out the magnet and remove the felt strip. Now the door swings free and easy, and the cats are much happier (or at least I suppose they are). Granted, I may have been too impatient and they might have learned to use the magnetized door with time, but it really seems to me that there should be an option to painlessly remove the impediments on the door in order to optionally have a free-swinging door, or sell a cheaper version without all the gizmos. Just a suggestion to the manufacturer.

I originally bought an alternative cat flap based on my boys sizes and weights, but having fitted it, it soon became obvious that it was far too small. I don't think my boys are excessively large, they are Siamese cross and weigh 6-6.5kg. I genuinely did not believe they would need a large cat flap - but I was wrong. This cat flap is excellent quality and fits beautifully in our wooden kitchen door. Absolutely no draught gets through, but it is still easy enough for the boys to push. The locking mechanism could perhaps be simpler, but once you suss out how it works, it's no big deal. It's a very solid, quality item. My boys are 3 years old and had never used a cat flap before, with the exception of the previous purchase that was too small. Having struggled with that one, I wondered if it would put them off trying with this one, but the initial hesitance lasted no more than a few hours before they realised they could get through this one so much easier. I admit, the original cat flap was cheaper, but you can't put a price on your cats happiness, and it's not as if this was overpriced, it is worth every penny. Definitely recommended.

Funzionale e resistente i miei gatti si sono abituati subito. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo e indispensabile perché i miei gatti amano stare fuori e così entrano e escono liberamente.

I purchased the Cat Mate wall adapter accessory to use with their cat flap, expecting it to provide a seamless solution for installing a cat flap through a wall. Unfortunately, this accessory falls short in several ways. First, you need to buy two of these accessories to fit through a standard wall thickness, which consists of two pieces of drywall and a 2x4 stud. This significantly increases the overall cost, making it an expensive option. Overall, I would not recommend this accessory. It is overpriced, and you need to purchase two to fit a standard wall thickness. If you're considering a cat flap for a wall, I suggest looking for other brands that offer more practical and cost-effective solutions.
