Excellent powder in my opinion have bought all three colours but have bought the yellow one again works well for me over dark under eyes on top of a yellow concealer

Before you think that banana powder is what you add to milk to make a Nesquik banana milkshake, think again. The Ben Nye banana powder was made popular by Mario Dedivanovic, the make up artist behind the masterpiece that is Kim Kardashian’s face. After the now infamous picture of Kim donning what looks like tiger stripes went viral, contouring as we knew it went bananas (literally) as units of this wonder product flew off the shelves. Mario gave away the secret of the uniquely bright under eye triangle which has been imitated and duplicated across blogs and YouTube alike, and thus a phenomena was born. I ordered this dupe for original Ben Nye product, the W7 Banana Dreams Loose Powder. The likes of MUA, Kiko, ELF, NYX, MAC & Stila all offer colour correcting powders in their base collections. These powders are either individual coloured powders designed to target the specific areas above or a mosaic powder which combines them all for an all over correcting powder. It’s all well and good to talk about colour correcting, but was it exactly? Isn’t that what concealer is for? Well, kind of. Green (Concealers & primers): cancels out redness Orange/Salmon (Concealers) : brightens dark under eye area Purple (Concealers, primers & powders) : brings life to dull yellow/sallow areas Yellow (Concealers and powders) : brightens areas where applied Banana powder has a yellow tone to it which as per the above gives brightness where it is applied. Typically a highlighting concealer is applied in an upside triangle beneath the eyes and then the powder is usually pressed under the eyes, left to “cook” on the skin for 5-10 minutes and dusted off with a light fan brush (I use the one from the Real Techniques Sculpting Set). This is called “baking” and is favoured by drag queens and celebrities to achieve a dramatic contour. The banana powder is also applied to the centre of the face. The ingredients of the W7 Banana Dreams powder differs from the Ben Nye Luxury Powder in that this notes Silica as an ingredient. Silica not only helps with oil control but is also proven to provide a blurring of pores and fine lines, as well as being extremely comfortable to wear – its an ingredient found in the likes of the Make Up Forever HD Powder which contributes to achieving flawless skin. This finely milled powder is velvety in texture, which when applied as a dusting under the eyes or on the t-zone as a highlighter provides a non cakey setting. So how does the Banana Dreams powder fair as a setting powder? I like it. It’s much finer in texture than loose powders I’ve used in the past, in fact it’s very similar in texture to the Bareminerals powder foundation. Instead of altering the shade of your foundation or giving your base a cakey finish, this powder only adds a smooth as a babies bum finish to the skin and does magically brighten sallow looking skin. I’ve not yet tried out the baking technique, but I’m sure I’ll pull out all the stops once I have an occasion worthy of a contour fit for royalty…or Kim K.

Great product..but you cant buy it as a single any more..so you lost a star.

This is a fab powder. I am very pale, and it works brilliantly as an all-over powder for me. It doesn't cake, or crease, or look flour-y or powdery on the skin, and gives a lovely, light finish. I don't know how it works as a standard banana powder - that is, to provide areas of highlighting and to brighten skin tone - as I have such pale skin, and with a yellow undertone, that this is really more the colour of my actual face than anything which may brighten it. As a standard setting powder however, to finish make-up and take away shine, this is brilliant. The only issues I could raise with it would be that it's quite bulky to carry around (although, on the flip side, you get plenty of product for your money) and the fact that, as a loose powder, this can be a bit messy to apply, so if you're baking your make-up, it's probably worth doing so *before* you get dressed, or things may get a bit 'rained on'. But this is true to most loose powders - for touching up throughout the day, be sure to dip your brush into the powder only lightly, and perhaps tap it against something (the lid is good, though sometimes with a loose powder you need to tap it a bit harder than that) before bringing the brush over your actual body.

This setting powder is absolutely beautiful. The finish it gives you is unbelievable and it doesn’t leave a yellow tint on your face, instead it leaves a nice colour blend and softens the concealer out. I have had no issues apart from the fact it is super messy and if you get it on ur clothes it is super hard to get off until you put them in the wash, besides that i would recommend.

Great colour , not too pink. Very finely milled so it doesn't look cakey or heavy on the skin.

A young lady on tiktok recommended thus setting powder for under eye baking for women of colour. A bit paler than I would have liked but such a bargain product as it comes with a large under eye powder puff as well.

Lovely and works like a dream with all my foundations (Ruby & Millie, L'Oreal satin liquid , Bobby brown & Mac). It is smooth, light and gives a glow to warm or cool yellow undertone people! I do not bake mine - just apply as a setting powder for the smoothest look I have ever had with a powder. I will never seek to buy a matching powder to my foundations as this does a better job. I have combination skin and my friend has dry ... I bought one for her...she can't bake it but the results were stunning..me being high yellow and she being cool yellow undertone. We took pictures of daylight, white light & standard yellow household light and the results are indisputable. No flashback, perfect blend and light long lasting all day wear even after perspiring in the gym ...it never faded! Women of colour suffer to much to find their matching makeup even now....so this is a godsend. Baking the powder is only for those with oily skin!!!....it is Translucent!!! I gifted one to my friend who is a qualified beautician and MUA....she loooooves it's. I bought from 4 retailers _ excellent service from infinity ...this time I bought 2 , so 3 in total so as not to run out and it makes life easier for me...since I do not need to retouch during the day!

Los banana dreams!! son muy buenos y baratitos y cumplen su función perfectamente!! Unifican muy bien la piel, hace que no tenga brillos y sellan muy bien el maquillaje. Ayuda muchísimo a que el que corrector no se parcheé y dure mucho más tiempo. Son unos polvos translúcidos de toda la vida, con la particularidad que son amarillos por lo que al aplicarnos no nos hace parecer más blancas. Las fotos en flash quedan geniales ya que el amarillo no se refleja. Tienen 20 gramos, es un tamaño bastante grande. Das Puder befindet sich in einem durchsichtigen Plastikdöschen mit schwarzem Schraubdeckel. Wenn man den Deckel abschraubt, befindet sich hier eine kleine Schale mit Löchern (vor dem ersten Gebrauch die Schutzfolie abziehen!), mit der man das lose Puder dosieren soll. Es hat einen leicht gelben Ton und ist geruchsneutral. Das Auftragen ist sehr angenehm. Das Puder legt sich gut auf der Haut ab und hinterlässt ein schönes und ebenmäßiges Hautbild, ohne die Haut auszutrocknen. Glänzende Stellen werden gut mattiert und Concealer lässt sich super setten. Avevo visto per caso un video su internet e avendo la pelle grassa ho voluto subito provarla, considerando anche il costo abbordabile. All’inizio ero un po’ scettica perché c’è solo una tonalità, ma vi assicuro che fa davvero il suo lavoro, opacizza senza colorare la pelle. Io ho la pelle chiara ma credo che vada benissimo anche a chi ha la pelle più scura. Non è la classica cipria che fa diventare bianche per intenderci. Per quanto riguarda l’utilizzo, è sufficiente bucare con un ago i buchini presenti sul tappo trasparente e versarne un po’ all’interno del tappo esterno (o dove volete) prenderla con una spugnetta ed il gioco è fatto! Dopo averla provata ne ho ordinate altre come regalo di Natale per le mie amiche, apprezzatissima anche da loro. Per me un prodotto validissimo !

Commande passée le 20 septembre et reçue 9 jours après donc assez rapidement. J'ai la peau noire donc la poudre convient aux peaux noires pour celles qui se posent la question. Honnêtement, cette poudre n'a rien à envier à la sacha powder qui est trois fois plus cher ! Elle fait un super teint et permet de faire du contouring ! L'emballage à la livraison était assez petit et le produit était neuf et dans un parfait état. En revanche, je ne peux pas vous dire combien de temps va me tenir cette poudre puisque je ne l'ai pas terminée. Le seul bémol selon moi est qu'elle est assez volatile donc attention à ne pas en perdre trop durant l'utilisation ! A part ça produit qui tient ses promesses et excellent rapport qualité/prix!
