The product came nicely packed so there was no fear of wear & tear during postage. Upon opening the package I found that the Rudrakshas were really black in color (as is shown in the display image). The string/attaching of beads is done using metal and it will only be after some use that I would be able to say if the shine of the metal remains consistent or not. As for the number of beads, there were 55 in this Mala (not 108+1) as was expected. So you can say that this is half a mala i.e. 44+1. The Meru of the Mala is not separated as usually done in beads, all 55 beads are in a single string-like weaving.
