This range from Wordsworth and Black is beautiful - I usually like a really fat fountain pen but I have two of these real wood pens now because they write so beautifully and are lovely to use.

Beautyful design , very well made, perfect to the last detail. Excellent Nib, writes well. The style of this fountain pen has distinct touch of Art Deco and Art Nouveau. The Bamboo couloured as Maple is quite beautiful und manufactured to a high standard. This and a modern finish makes this pen stand out. Is very light, you won't get tired. This Pen is a beautiful Gift for anybody or yourself! Price is more than fair for such a piece! Highly recommended! Now, I will order the BALLPOINT-Version of this pen...

Excellent quality Well impressed, great value for money

The colour of rosewood version is a bit like red mahogony, definitely a nice colour. The wooden case is just as beautiful, but in my case (and if you want to be picky), when you tilt it towards the light, you can see some scratches on the applied finish (and little bumps at the back were the hinges are which makes it obvious the paint has ). There are also little dents, which seem more to be part of the wooden material instead of the condition of the delivery. This is my first fountain pen, so my knowledge is not the best, but the pen writes well on paper -- except with a little sound, which is up to personal preference, or it could be the paper I'm using. The ink provided with the pen are great to start you off. The cap is heavy, and doesn't quite fit onto the end of the pen, but it closes with a satisfying click. However, after a few days to play around with this pen, I think the pen is kind of small for my hands especially the place where you grip the pen, which makes longer writing sessions awkward. For reference, the grip is as thin as a four-year-old's pinky.

I don’t very often write reviews but after using this pen I felt I had to, not only because of the quality of the pen itself but because of the fantastic customer service at Wordsworth & Black. Firstly, the pen is just really nice to look at (see picture). The box is nice although I do wish it “snapped” shut with some form of magnet or at least some sort of clasp. Saying that, as a box that would sit on a desk it is perfect. Secondly, the pen writes like a dream. It has a really nice weight to it and I haven’t noticed any bleed on the back of the paper I am writing on which is mostly 80gsm. The ink flow is constant, which means I’m not going over what I’ve written again. The ink does struggle to write over laser printed paper, eg, I have lists that I have to tick off, if the box is printed tell, the ink doesn’t stick as well, but no problem - I have a back up pen for such menial tasks! Unfortunately, I did have to contact customer services as the lid had stopped clicking on securely. I had asked for a new lid but they sent me a complete new pen with no requirement to send back the defective one (which is good because I have grown quite attached to the pen in such a short space of time), so now I have spare parts! Even with the lid issue I can’t give any less than 5 stars.

I hadn't used a fountain pen for many years, mostly because the ones I had (a premium brand) kept drying up on me and it wasn't easy to get replacement cartridges. I thought I'd give a decent pen another try, and these Wordsworth & Black pens seemed to provide a quality product - though I thought the price was perhaps a bit low for that to be so. The pen arrived quickly, and really, I haven't looked back. I won't use any other pen now. I have bought some additional cartridges as I'm unsure how long they will last, given my current rate of use. So, pen looks great, just a slight fiddle getting the first cartridge in and running - due to temerity on my part... well, I didn't want to wreck it. Only teeny niggle is that the paperwork with it seems to imply the medium nib can be changed for a fine one, and that isn't so. A separate pen is needed with the fine nib onboard. That niggled until I remembered the cost of the pen, then it became a niggle no more. Recommended for quality writing. Now I'm ordering that second pen, with a fine nib, from Wordsworth & Black.

I lost my fountain pen whilst moving - and I miss it- odd maybe yes-but there’s nothing quite like writing with a fountain pen-I’ve been using them since a young age when it was identified Tay my handwriting became more legible with it. Sorry for the essay there! So-Pros: Looks beautiful! Lovely wooden box that comes with the pen. - Good value for money - nice nib - smooth to write with - comes with own adapter to use bottled ink. Cons: - Not balanced-very heavy at the top of the lid, so if you’ve put the lid onto the top- when you write it sort of falls against your hand. - Didn’t come with an ink cartridge or ink bottle. - the box doesn’t have an obvious opening as oppose to the hinges at the back. - you have to fiddle around to get it to fit -it’s not a custom fit. -There’s no fastener at the box.

The pen arrived in perfect condition and on the specified date. It came with ink cartridges but is easy to fill from an inkwell (my preferred option). It is comfortable to hold and a pleasure to use. I would definitely recommend this pen to anyone who appreciates fine writing equipment.

Schon die wertige Verpackung, das Rosenholz-Etui zu öffnen war ein besonderer Genuss für Augen und Haptik. Dies setzte sich fort beim Füllfederhalter, der komplett ausgestattet ankam, also auch mit Konverter. Leicht zu befüllen und mit einem sehr feinen Gleiten über das Papier, bereitet es mir sehr viel Freude, ihn mit einer meiner Lieblingstinten zu benutzen. Absolut empfehlenswert, auch als Geschenk *****
