I live with multiple cats who seem to have spraying issues so am always looking for a good black light to find the messes. I also have a second home that is a rental so sometimes need to find messes there. I got this one mostly to use at my second home.This is the third black light I own. The first is a cheapie I got at a local big box store that is powered by AAA batteries. The second is a big, powerful one I got mostly to use outdoors. This one is intermediate between the other two in price, size and performance. All three work well to find cat urine, but the cheapie needs to be very close and I don’t recommend getting one like that. This one does a great job of finding cat sprays and other messes, but misses a few that I can see with the more powerful light. If you need to find every possible mess then a more powerful light might be better, but for everyday use this one is great.One of the things I like about this one is its ergonomic design. My other two have the on/off switch at the far end. This is fine if you just want to switch it on and keep it on, but quite inconvenient if you want to switch it off and on, as I commonly do while looking for messes around the house. This one has the on/off switch right where your thumb sits while holding it, which makes it very easy and comfortable to use. When I first plugged it in I was surprised it didn’t have an indicator for charging, but it turns out that there is a green LED in the on/off switch that lights up when the battery is full – a very nice feature. I really like the rechargeable battery – it is much better and more powerful than disposable batteries. The charger only hooks up to a USB port so you will need an adaptor if you have a charger that only has USB-C. Another ergonomic feature is a lanyard that allows you to put it around your wrist – very easy to keep track of and something that is lacking on my other lights.This light has a low and high setting and also has the ability to focus the light. I’m not sure the focusing part is very useful – I just set it somewhere in the middle and keep it there. It is very solidly built and feels good in your hand. It also comes with orange glasses, which I assume is to help see the light better or possibly to protect from eye damage if you looked at the light (which I would not recommend). I did not find them particularly useful but YMMV – and maybe I did not use them in the right conditions.Overall, this is an excellent choice for a general-purpose black light that is small and easy to use and will help you find out more about what your cats are doing than you ever wanted to know. One warning about this and other black lights – don’t use them in a hotel room or you will never sleep away from home again.

Wasn't even really a black light let alone a UV light, more of like just a regular flashlight. The white light washes out whatever black light abilities it might have. Not as advertised. Not satisfied with this purchase at all.

I picked this up as in impulse--because I've always wondered what it would show around the house. Soooooo much more fun than I was expecting. After having a dog for 10 years and pet sitting for longer, I was expecting signs of pet stains here and there... I was surprised--nothing! But what I wasn't prepared for was how filthy the outside of my toilets were... and how much splashing remains on the walls. I seriously couldn't get the spray bottle and towels fast enough!Besides being fun to shine around the room and see what glows, it's really great at showing dust and cobwebs you might not see. And sometimes for finding the little thing you dropped and can't seem to find on your carpet/wood floor. Obviously it has to be something that reacts with the black light but worth a try before spending 10 minutes on your hands and knees.I love the it's rechargeable--USB C. The lens does get warmer the I expected. There's writing on the case saying it's going to get hot--don't touch it. They're right. It's not a problem--just a surprise after getting used to LED flashlights for the last several years that seemingly give off little to no heat compared to the incandescent and halogen bulbs of a few years ago.

This product was a lifesaver. My dog unfortunately ate some chocolate which then she proceeded to get very sick and make a mess around our house. In some cases the messes were hard to determine where they were at and I recalled purchasing this flashlight a couple of weeks ago and was so glad that I did. I was able to find puke stains that were already dried up that were just water as well as any other messes in the house that I could not see with the naked eye. Truly, a game changer highly highly recommended for anyone that is a avid pet owner

This is a well-constructed light and has a zoom feature. The battery is fitted with a plastic spacer sleeve, so the diameter of the light body could be smaller, though it fits the hand well as is. Performance is only so-so, as it emits more visible whitish light than similar 365 nm UV lights available on Amazon.The picture with the whitish circle of illumination is from the reviewed light showing the front of our washing machine (detergent often has fluorescent whitening agents). The fluorescent surfaces show but are "washed out" by the amount of visible light. The second picture is the same scene using another similar size 365 nm UV light. Even with no zoom, and showing a larger UV illuminated area, the fluorescing surfaces are more distinct and brighter. Both lights use a single 18650 Lithium battery, so I think it a fair comparison.

This is great for pet owners. I have a rescue dog that suffers from serious separation anxiety and pees in the house when we are gone. Sometimes it is difficult to locate where he peed if he misses the pad. This is great for detecting where the accident occurs. It easily locates the dry urine and then we can clean it up. It comes with the flashlight and a pair of glasses. So, easy to use and convenient.

I got this light because I am an avid rockhound. My club goes out rock hunting all the time. This light is all metal and extremely sturdy, it rechargeable and comes with the battery and charge cord. What I love is how good it fluoresces my rocks. It doesn’t just give a hint of fluorescence it goes bold. I have seen more expensive UV lights do a lot less. For me this will go on every rock trip I take. Highly recommend.
