So sharp!!
These knives are not only beautiful, but they’re so sharp! When I got this set I was thoroughly impressed with the variety of knives there were. I don’t even know what some are for 🤣The handle on the knife makes holding them extremely easy - and the knives are so durable too! (I may have dropped a few)Be careful washing them - they cut my sponge right in half!I will 100% order again if I need them, or maybe get a set as a gift for my girlfriend who cooks a lot. You’ll be missing out if you don’t get these knives.

How long does it take
It's very nice set. The power cord and instruction manual was missing.Once set up I waited and watched for at least an hour and I never once saw the automatic sharpener work. They appear to be very sharp. I wish I had known it was not a good idea to use them to trim my toenails. That was probably in manual. They look very good in my kitchen. They seemed out of place on my bedroom nightstand so I moved them.Did I mention they looked good and are very sharp and pointy. I forgot to mention pointy. They are nice. I recommend buying them. My wife told me to say you needed bandages if your husband is like hers.

Excellent for the price!
Apart from the visually appealing aspect - hammered highly polished carbon stainless steel looks gorgeous - these are VERY sharp and cut with ease. The wooden handles give them additional "heft" - much better than the plastic lightweight handles that are so prevalent nowadays - so you feel as though you are using a superior kitchen instrument. I don't have a dishwasher, so I hand wash everything and these are very easy to clean. Just make sure you dry them immediately after rinsing to avoid "water" spots accumulating on the blades. The wooden block has printing against every slot identifying which knife goes where in the block. My only "gripe", if you can call it that, is with the block itself. The exterior is finished with a nice dark wood stain, but the opening and all the way down inside the slots is just bare, unfinished, and I suspect, untreated wood, so I must wonder about any potential damage to the block itself from inside should you get any water splashes on the inside of the slots where the knives sit. Apart from that, beautiful, functional and excellent craftsmanship.

Good set for the price
First thing first, it is only fair to compare this set with others in the similar price range. Among the sets I have and I have worked with (I help sharpen my friends sets often), a particular set might be the one closest to it. My opinions are based on mostly having that set in mind. It is a lower end of a famous German knife brand.Pros:Price -- It is at a very affordable point for a set at its quality.Design -- I like its ergonomic design, feel good in hand. Larger knifes are weighted well, the center of mass are just above the index finger while using. I am not very picky on smaller ones. The handle is rounded for the comfort. The hammer pattern doesn't just improve the look but is also functional.Craftmanship -- The build appear to be sturdy. Details are well managed.Edge retention -- I expect the edge holds well. I ran the non-important part of the santoku knife through a hammer several passes, the edge held. I am sure they will work fine of their kitchen duty.Cons:Craftmanship -- This is where the price factor kicks in. I'd like to see the edges and handles are polished using finer grade medium.Easy to sharp -- If you have the habit of going through the sharpen steel a couple of times before use, then you are fine. However, if after a longer period of using (kind of really long I assume) and you need to sharpen it, you will see the other side of the high carbon steel. I normally use P5000 grit belt for kitchen knifes, but I found I needed P800 to see real result as for outdoor knives and hatchets. It took significantly longer when using P5000.Packaging -- Though minor, but I don't like the plastic sleeves for each individual knife. I wish they just use kraft pager sleeves, better presentation when sending out as a gift.

Great knives
Knives are very sharp and nice to hold. Both with butcher block are such a great look on my counter (a much needed improvement from what I had)!
