DC Men's Stag XE Skate Shoe, 12

I bought these DCs for mountain biking. I tried them on and found the tongue was too fat for my liking these days. I slit the side open on the tongue and removed the huge piece of foam. I cut the foam in half to be thinner and trimmed the sides to help fit back in the tongue and had my mom sew them back together (shes a black belt with the sewing machine lol). Added insoles and these shoes look, feel, and perform great. Nice firm platform on pedals and very grippy . I will update if mtb pedals chew up the soles.

I wear a size 13 standard width in Vans, Adidas casual shoes, New Balance and am a 12 in duty/work boots and Chuck's. This shoe in 13 fits like I've come to expect a 13 to fit based on all the previous footwear I've had as those mentioned. I needed a replacement for my FiveTen Freerider XVI mountain bike shoes and thought I'd try these out. They have a very athletic styling similar to the FiveTens as opposed to the standard skate shoe look. The tongue isn't over padded like some skate shoes which I prefer. To me they offer a sportier appearance that lends to a more age appropriate look than the over padded and loose laced variety favored by adolescent youth. The sizing and width are consistent with almost all brands' size 13 that I can remember. Indeed the laces are done up in equal lengths which is a nice touch and good attention to detail. My co-worker ordered the DC Pure sports shoe in his normal "vans" size and they did in fact end up being too small as some reviewers for that product have mentioned. I believe he mentioned it was a half size too small regarding the size 10 he ordered. Did not have that problem at all with this model. Looks great and fits as expected. At half the price of FiveTens I'm happy and content with their performance on flat pedaled trail riding. You have foolish expectations if you have specific arch support needs and opt for skate shoes without appropriate inserts. Overall very pleased with them barring any experience with their durability thus far.

I bought these as school shoes for my son (meaning he doesn't play in them). They look great and because his feet are a bit narrow they are a bit wide for him but not too wide to send back. I'm writing this review now because these shoes did not last the school year and before you decide it's a kid thing; keep reading. Understand I buy 4-5 pairs of school shoes per year (they become play shoes later) because I know children are hard on shoes and if you wear them everyday they most definitely will not make it through the school year. Same concept with Payless shoes, if you buy several and rotate you will get your money's worth. The logos of these shoes fell off before the first report card was released!!! Are these real DC shoes, I don't know but for the actual logos to fall off - I don't think so. They look good but I think they maybe the factory rejects or something.

I'm a fan of DC and had similar shoes in the past. Some shoe companies are different in sizing, but if you have had DC before, stick with what works. They fit as expected. If you have wider feet then I would suggest getting a half size larger. I have to say though, even though they are a tad (half a size at most) smaller than I would like (my own fault), I still love them and they still don't hurt my feet it's just a little crowded.I've gotten a lot of compliments on the grey with the bit of green and I wasn't hard set on them since I liked a bit more design. When I got them in person they won me over. Great coloring and accenting. It's subtle accenting that makes them unique. They did a great job.DC's quality has never faltered and I still have a pair that has no wear issues (just dirty since they are half white) and I've had them for over 5 years. The inside heal fabric is worn a little but I'm heavier than average and wore them every day. No fraying, laces are intact, and no ripping or tearing of the inside fabric besides the minor damage I did myself in the heal. Some sketchers I have had, wore down the fabric lining around the foot including the top heal edge when inserting my foot but DC is still holding up great. The only reason why I bought a new set is because I wanted a color change. DC wasn't giving me a reason through wear and tear.Like others have said they are flat shoes but if I needed support I wouldn't hesitate throwing some inserts in there. Completely worth it.I would recommend these shoes and don't mind the compliments I get anytime someone new sees them. And if you're on the fence, chances are if you get them, you will not be disappointed at all.

I have only worn them 3 times for a short period of time and I just noticed that both shoes have already begun to fray in the same area on both shoes which leads me to believe the product was produced by a sub standard manufacturer I'm highly dissapointed I wont be buying or recommending DC brand shoes again

The build quality looks great and the shoes look great, but they definitely run small compared to other DC shoes. My husband has had DC shoes in size 10 before and wore them for years. This pair of size 10, are labeled size 10 but fit like a size 9. He could barely get his foot into the shoes and his toes crammed all the way to the very end, so much so that he considered them painful. I will be returning them as they are incorrectly sized.

I am pretty irritated with the shoes I got, rather the laces in the shoes... How the heck are you going to sell someone shoes with different shoelaces in each shoe???? I love DC shoes and I love these shoes but I am furious that I have different laces. One is thinner than the other and the stitching is better on one shoe. DC laces are known for good quality and someone swapped a lace and now I see these shoes as unwearable. Going to have to send them back I guess which really sucks because I like these shoes but DC laces are impossible to find and I'm sure that's why I am missing a lace because someone took on off the shoe and replaced it with a cheap one. Wow

I love these shoes they fit perfect I wear them all the time very comfortable and look amazing. I have skated in them so the have taken some punishment. great for commuting to work to I am confident recommending these really cool looking trainers.
