Privacy film is just what I hoped for and more. I recently bought a window bird feeder for my cats to get some enrichment however there excitement scared the birds away till the birds stopped coming. Cats sat and waited for birds to come but none came :( I wasn’t sure at first as I heard birds are scared of there reflection but because they already knew the location of the bird house I figured it would likely work. Now the birds sit and eat while my cats paw, jump, tap and stare at them and the birds have no idea the cats are still there as they were before. It’s so awesome to be able to walk up to the window myself and watch them too. Before they would fly away as soon as they saw me a few feet away. Applying it was super easy. Make sure that when you install this, avoid over saturating the edges where the glass and window frame meet. No matter how much cleaning you do, the liquid will get into the seam and make dirt and debris drip out. The dirt will cause air bubbles and lumps/bumps in the window film. The edges of the film will not stick or stay down if there is dirty liquid dripping down. Also, clean the window really well with a lint free cloth and squeegee if possible to get all particles off window. I didn’t have a spray bottle to make soapy water but the liquid dawn spray bottle would work if you have that. I used a bubble gun and plane squirt bottle I had filled with water to make a soapy surface for the film. One MAJOR DOWNSIDE or two actually was the fact you could only order one roll at a time… I just don’t understand that at all. I have a very large loft window with 12 window panes I only intended to cover two at most but could barely cover one without cutting all these odd crazy rectangles and squares to cover the whole thing. So I have lots of edges instead of just having two pieces the length of my window. I could cut one for half then the rest of the roll only came down half way, so I had to cut whatever odds and ends were left to cover the bottom half right corner. Lastly, I thought this kit came with the tools to to apply the film like in the photo but it didn’t. I used a window squeegee after first using a credit card and realizing it left scratch marks all over the film… so use a rubber squee gee or plastic that is flexible. Credit cards or gift cards will leave swipe marks that are permanent when trying to get all air bubble out. Oh and the film has a helpful grid on the back to assist with cutting, measuring and straight lines. I saw some other products didn’t have this but this one does! Cats are happy, I’m happy 😊 in the photos you can see how close my cat is to the and also the bottom right corner you can see all the pieces I had to cut to cover the whole window. If I could have ordered more than one roll at once it wouldn’t look so janky lol ridiculous.

The film is great, applies easily and well, looks fantastic from the inside and works amazing for reflecting out heat. Was easy to cut to size and pretty close to my actual window size so very little cutting to do. You definitely can't see in during the day, the privacy is great. But, do not get the reflective one if you have an older house. On newer houses it looks lovely, beautiful, sophisticated. On older houses the reflection outside looks like tinfoil. I sort of wish it worked less well, so that I could justify not keeping it up... but, it blocks a lot of heat, it dims the room without ruining my outside view, and it works fantastic in every other regard. Just don't get the reflective one if you have an older house because of the tin foil look.

Just that it saids its privacy at night too but you can see right through it at night other than that easy installation and measure before buying

For $4.00 this does it's job well for my apartment bedroom, it's easy to apply, just measure, cut(grids on the peel off part so you can cut straight) spray water on the windows and contact(mirror) side, apply to windows and smooth out the bubbles. I first tried extra light curtains with adhesive hooks for the rods but within 24hrs the hooks fell off the wall.

I had high hopes for the MAGIDEKOR Window Privacy Film, but my experience was mixed. It was not easy to install—getting it smooth without bubbles took a lot of time and patience. While it does provide some privacy during the day, it really didn’t provide much protection from the sun, which was one of the main reasons I purchased it. It looks sleek once up and does give a mirror effect, but if you’re buying it primarily for heat or UV reduction, you may want to look at other options.

Updated review January 2026 - The film was holding up until a few days ago. I noticed it was peeling off & likely will need to be reapplied - probably entirely. This is a bit annoying because it hasn't even been 3 months. Buy something else. Original review October 2025 The film applied easily and is working good. Still on day one so I will update if it fails. The little yellow thing is really small compared to other kits but it still works well. I didn't pay attention to the size so I had piece together to make it wide enough but the seams are smooth enough. I would buy it again because it is cheap enough. The UV blocking seems to be working good. Usually our window feels like the sun is beating into the space. Now, the light comes in with only the slightest hint of shade but the heat is turned down significantly. The privacy would be ideal for someone who was looking for it and overall it doesn't look too bad!

This black/silver reflective window film was easier to apply than I thought it would be. I applied a small piece first to see if I could get it to stick. I managed to do it by myself with no problem. Use lots of soapy water spray on window and film. The small squeegee tool worked great to smooth out the water and bubbles--use the felt side so the film does not get scratched. I noticed less heat and glaring bright sunshine in the room right away to make the room more comfortable and inviting, even in the direct path of the west afternoon sun. I like that it is not permanent. Save the backing on the roll and I could move the film even to a different house!

This is wonderful! It hides the craft junk I have in this pretty cabinet. Previously I had white cardboard in the glass but this looks so much better. The squeegee works great to get the bubbles out. I’m very impressed, I will find other creative uses for this. I can’t believe it only costed $5, it’s like a gift from god!
