THIS IS A GREAT MACHINE. PERFECT FOR WHAT I NEEDED IT FOR. SLICING SUMMER SAUSAGES EVERY WEEK. THIS MACHINE WAS EASY FOR ME TO USE. I AM DIS-ABLED NO USE OF MY LEFT HAND. I WAS ABLE TO SET UP USE AND TAKE DOWN AND WASH. BLADE WAS VERY EASY TO DIS MOUNT AND REMOUNT. MACHINE IS LIGHT TO CARRY AND MOVE (8 LBS). HEAVY ENOUGH TO STAY IN PLACE WHILE USING THANKS TO RUBBER SUCTION FEET.BEFORE I STRUGGLED WITH MY KNIFE AND SAUSAGE, USUALLY HAD TO WEDGE THE SAUSAGE BETWEEN THE MICROWAVE AND COFFEE MAKER. THIS MACHINE HAS MADE MY LIFE EASIER. PERFORMANCE WAS GREAT. POWER WAS JUST RIGHT FOR MY APLICATION. ONLY REGRET IS I WISH I HAD BOUGHT IT 12 YEARS AGO WHEN I HAD MY STROKE. I WONT BE WITHOUT ONE OF THESE MACHINES. WHEN THIS ONE WEARS OUT I WILL BUY ANOTHER ONE OF THE SAME BRAND. ONE FEATURE I LIKE IS THE TRAY. I PUT A PAPER PLATE ON IT TO CATCH THE SLICES AS THEY COME OFF THE BLADE THEN DUMP THEM IN A CONTAINER WITH A LID ON IT AND STORE IT IN THE REFRIGERATOR AND ALWAYS HAVE A HANDY SNACK ON HAND.

Amazing slicer at an incredible price! I had a previous version of this slicer and it held up under regular use for 15 years (mostly I make jerky and thin-sliced meats for Asian style dishes). So I bought this one as a replacement and it does not disappoint! Easy to use and cleans up nice. Will definitely buy again when this one goes out in another 15+ years!

When I purchased this, the color that I ordered was grey. I would never call this color grey, but green. Although the pictures that I posted make it look grey, it is definitely green. I wasn't thrilled with that, but that is strictly cosmetic, so not a big deal there. The blade that comes with this is serrated and it cuts very well. It has plenty of grease on the blade to keep it from squeaking. It is a good idea to purchased a tube of grease to keep it well greased. The food carriage locks into place when you are not using it and that is a nice feature. The power button is at the end and it stays on when you are using it. I do like that feature. Though the description says that it is an easy clean machine, I do not find it as easy to clean as my former slicer that I used before this. Some of the parts come off for easy cleaning, but the food tends to stick down by the lower edge of where the black plastic safety piece by the blade meets the carriage. I am a clean freak, so I try to get every bit of food out and keep my slicer sparkling clean. This was not nearly as easy to clean as I had hoped, so I marked it down for this reason. I sliced some prime rib yesterday and it sliced it perfectly! However, I did have to turn off the slicer every few slices to clean out where the food jams down at the bottom. I like how you can put the plastic tray under the slicer to catch the food as it slices. That is a nice feature. Another thing that I like is that the cord stores hidden inside of the machine. I really like that. The feet are rubberized suction little feet so that it is supposed to stay put while you are using it. But they are not big enough to provide enough suction. It does tend to move around. I would highly recommend purchasing a tube of grease to use with this, and it is nice to have an extra smooth blade as well. I feel like this is a much better machine that my old slicer and the biggest drawbacks are the color and the more time spent cleaning it. But I am pleased with this purchase.

At this price point, this is a very good buy! I have been using it now for about 2 years and so far, havent changed the blade. I have blown 2 fuses over the 2 years - which doesn't seem too bad. I am probably getting to the point where a new blade would be good. It cuts meats and cheeses very accurately down to a pretty thin slice. I have used it on eye of round, turkey, pork loin and summer sausage, as well as smoked gouda cheese. Would recommend it for the casual user.

Slicer also is like weight, slides all over when using and is flimsy like a cheap plastic toy. Easy to clean but dangerous to use. No phone numbers or emails to contact seller. Number on paperwork is no longer valid. You have to contact the owner of chef mate which is called the Legacy cCmpany. Google it as amzn denied my last review I feel because I gave their number, beginning with 954 area code. In dealing with them they may allow me to get another product since I bought from amzn, but my intuition is I’m going to be out $91 for a very poorly constructed slicer. It went bang ! I got my money back

I've been using the Chef's Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer for a few months now, and it has completely changed the way I prepare meals for my family. I find myself using it multiple times a day - it's that useful! It's great for quickly slicing cabbage, cucumbers, and carrots for coleslaw, and it makes it easy to salt cure pork and slice it thin for charcuterie. I've also used it to turn roast beef and pork into sandwich meat in seconds, and it's perfect for slicing bread and cheese to any thickness. One of the things I love most about this slicer is how easy it is to clean. All of the major moving parts can be easily removed and washed in the sink. As a pro tip, I'd recommend purchasing the circular blade option for better micro-thin slicing of softer foods, and be sure to wear cut-proof gloves while using the slicer to stay safe. You may also want to invest in some food grade grease to keep the blade lubricated in certain parts - the unit comes pre-lubricated, but after multiple cleanings you will need to lubricate one or two points. Don't worry, this takes all of 10 seconds every 4-5 cleanings. One thing to note is that the Chef's Choice 615A is made of a mix of heavy plastic and metal, which makes it sturdier and quieter than many budget slicers on the market. Works very well, effectively slicing cured meat into thin slices. So beware though if using outside the US that you will require a step down voltage transformer otherwise the fuse will immediately blow (as protection against motor damage). This requirement is not clear from the sales particulars, however the shipper did send an email notification of this requirement which was received too late to have been of use, meaning that I blew the first fuse before seeing their email which had been sent to the spam folder. Tip is to order spare fuses just in case and the voltage transformer so that you can use out of the box. Once in operation it works well, with simple adjustment of the selected slicing thickness and is both easy to operate and clean after use.

Great product, switch is on top of slicer so you do not end up with food at switch like you do with slicers that have the switch out front. Guide is very stiff and stays true while you are slicing. For $100 more you get a better quality slicer than can be purchased in store and delivered right to your door and this slicer is approx $100 less than the same brand improved model slicers that are listed, which don’t seem to have any more features than this slicer other than switch location. This slicer was replacing a model 610 which we had for over 20 years. Even though this is a 609A it is similar to the older model but with improved features, ie: blade removal screw. Would definitely buy again.

It was a beautiful product unfortunately the UK power voltage doesn’t compete with it, so I have to make the return. The seller has one of the best e-commerce customer service I have ever seen. Very supportive and very professional!
