A great upgrade over my previous chromebook!
This has been my best chromebook so far. It is fast, gets decent battery life, has a great screen, and has given my no issues. It replaced a much older chromebook with probably 4Gb of memory. By comparison, this chromebook seems so much faster. Especially when switching among 15-20 tabs. It was really nice to find a chromebook with a physical ethernet port as well as a full-size hdmi port.If I had to come up with nits, I would wish it had one or two more USB ports. At least one more USB-A port would have been useful at times.Highly recommended!

Great upgraded chromebook
Had an older Acer chromebook, upgraded to this one and couldn't be happier. The keyboard backlight, screen, and system performance are exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to minimize changes when upgrading my chromebook, and this is the same in every way I liked, and better in every other way. Great product!

Blows Away Anything Else at this Price Point
We've owned 5 Chromebooks, including my daily driver, a Pixelbook Go. We've also owned several Macbooks over the years. Out of all the Chromebooks in our home, this one blows away anything made by Asus or Lenovo. We've had two Lenovos and both had QC issues. We've had 3 Asus machines: two were low-end and did the job, minimally. The third Asus we had was mid-range and mediocre in every way. But this Acer, at a slightly higher price point than our most recent Asus purchase, completely blows it away. Great keyboard, fantastic screen (not a touch screen), bright, great color pop. The extra RAM is great. Fast processor. No complaints about this device at all.The standard of comparison, in my view, is the Pixelbook Go. Even though it's 5 years old, it's still better than most available Chromebooks. However, this Acer with its newer i5 processor and 16 GB of RAM smokes the Pixelbook Go speedwise, and in almost every other way. So finally one of the manufacturers got the Chromebook right for a change, far below a grand. Seems that the only way to get a decent Chromebook is to spend a thousand buck, but this Acer does a great job at a decent price. No touchscreen, but who cares. If my Pixelbook Go died tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another Acer 516 GE.

Powerful for work; fun for off-hours; inexpensive for the power.
When you want to use a Chromebook for remote work, and you want to drive a 32" 4K external monitor and have a zippy experience, this is a powerful machine. It's inexpensive, easy to keep updated. 16GB of RAM and 2.5 GB networking support rounds out the package.(If I wanted to do Cloud Gaming, it's good for that as well!)

Plays GoPro 13 videos well
We purchased a GoPro 13 video camera from Amazon a month ago. I had a hell of a time playing back the videos on an older Acer Chromebook and on a Windows 7 desktop PC. After much research I was able to download the MX video player and with that I could watch my recordings on the Acer Chromebook, albeit the playback was slow and jerky.I wanted a faster Chromebook anyway so I placed an order here on Amazon. Huge difference, all the GoPro videos play immediately with the Chrome gallery up right out of the box. I'm happy now and if anyone has issues with a GoPro or other video cameras this Chromebook comes highly recommended.

Bad battery life.
This is a really nice Chromebook. Vibrant, colorful screen, with tons of performance. But that comes at a cost. I get 4 hours or less on a charge, far less than what Acer claims (though they claim it with the screen brightness all the way down, which isn't even useful in a dark room). If you're a gamer, you'll love this if you actually want to stream games to a Chromebook, or play Android games. I do neither, but still needed a powerful Chromebook Plus, and nothing new was on the horizon. Another drawback is the "WASD GaMeR kEyS", which are different and actually very hard to see if you aren't a touch typer. It has also crashed twice for unknown reasons.

Fantastic CB+ device!
I didn't buy this for gaming, I needed a Chromebook Plus for myself. I did buy it because it has great specs at a great price, & it didn't disappoint! Good build quality & a nice Keyboard. Screen is very sharp & good for my eyes, though I EXPECTED it to be Touch based on its original price. Battery life is very long with just web based tasks. Overall a very good purchase in the $500 price range. Included Controller is nice because at the the end of the day, this is my personal device :)

Customer Product Support
My Son accidentally cracked the LCD / screen cracked. Have had for 3 months. Called Acer customer service ready to pay for repair / screen replacement knowing it's not a warranty issue and was quoted the price of the laptop to repair. I told them that's the amount I paid for the laptop new and was told it's a system generated cost and they apologized and said sorry... I have never owned an Acer brand but my son wanted it. I had the same issue with my preferred brand Del* and they had it returned to them, replaced the screen and sent back to me within a week for a reasonable and acceptable amount. It's sad that Acer had a chance to keep me for future products but now I know Acer cannot be trusted or authenticated as a company that cares or backs up thier product. Product not the the issue here, support is not at all what it's competitors provide... it's time to get my son a new Del*...
