This is a quality product. However, there are no installation directions. If you have a plunge router and can make your own jigs this seems like a good latch. The problem is the lack of instructions. I don’t know how deep to make the mortise that holds the unit or how wide the mortise needs to be. I also don’t know how far back from the edge of the door face/edge of the jamb to mount the latch and receiver plate. I will probably have to mock this up in scrap wood to see what works. So, if you have lots of woodworking experience you can probably figure it out. If you don’t have the tools stay away from this latch.

Used these on a very heavy hidden door build. Solid and satisfying snap to close.

Perfect match for replacing my 30-year-old brass roller latches for my front door. There were more expensive roller latches that I could have purchased, but these were well constructed and worked great.

Works great heavy duty

As the title says, it's difficult to evaluate this product. Construction is extremely rugged; I have no doubt that it will be a durable, high quality product. It would be well suited for heavy commercial doors that get a lot of use, like hospital rooms, etc. But... I ordered these for a pair of interior doors (large pantry) without really thinking about the design. Most catches that serve this function are 'ball' type catches. You screw the striker to the frame (just like this one) and you drill a ~3/4" hole in the door to mount the ball/spring cylinder. With this one, it requires a fairly large, rectangular hole in the edge of the door. This is fine with solid wood or metal-clad commercial doors, but with the 1 3/8" thick, hollow core interior doors that are so common these days, it's going to significantly affect the strength of the door. And it's also going to be a major job to cut that rather large rectangular hole in the door, with typical homeowner tools. (I'm much better equipped than most, and I'm still not looking forward to it.) So...if marketed as a purely commercial product, 5 stars. If marketed to diy homeowners, I'd have to say one, purely on the installation difficulty plus the structural issues in a residential door.

When I ordered product, It didn’t mention ‘2’ pieces. I ordered the Product trusting on information provided by sizes, but instead I received one with half depth. I am happy with Product but I will give 1 star less because of wrong informations provided. Pros: - It arrived 2 weeks earlier - It’s much harder than other products. It can hold my wooden door which other products couldn’t Cons - Provided informations are not correct

Quality of colour / finish is not great. It's not black it's actually coloured dark brown. Also the paint isn't in good condition. Unfortunately I have fitters in and have to use this without choice. There is no compensation offered either.
