Be sure to keep your old bolts, you’ll n ed some of them. Mainly the ones for where the pulley is attached to the plate. These pulleys appear to be a much better quality. Toto should be ashamed for selling the mower with the cheap pulleys. They are not all created equal. I highly recommend this item and it’s probably best if you replace both at the same time. Time will tell. Also, make sure your blades are lined up properly (- |) before you tighten up everything, otherwise you’ve wasted your time.

The Toro Timemaster is a decent mower. However, the engine is a bit underpowered and the original Pulley bearings are weak and require frequent replacement. I have owned my Timemaster for 9 years and have replaced the bearings 6 or 7 times. These steel bearings are superior to the originals and I anticipate longer life. Time will tell Kit came complete, simply installation and mower runs much quieter than before

Overall first impression is that this is a good product. However, under close inspection I found that the inner seal from the stand alone pulley bearing was laying loose inside the pulley. Had I not noticed it, it would have exposed the bearing to all the dust, dirt and debris from mowing and drastically shortened the life of the bearing. I removed the retaining ring, pressed out the bearing, snapped the seal back into the bearing and reassembled it. The pulley and bracket assembly appeared to be ready to install. Everything looked ok. The dust cap was installed and there were no installation instructions to indicate anything other than the obvious… remove the old pulleys and install the new ones. However I decided to remove the dust cap and inspect the dust seal. The seal was fine but the bolt that secures the bearing to the bracket was finger tight. If I hadn’t inspected this it certainly would have resulted in the pulley and bracket assembly coming apart during use. Not good! So very simple things wrong that could have had been the cause for premature failure and significant damage. Oh and the hearings are a generic China 6203 bearing. Time will tell if they are any good.
