Good built quality. But has machine oil smell.
While the built quality is good and it looks nice, the unit I got has a machine oil smell. The smell emanates from the metal plate at the bottom. I was not sure how to get rid of the smell, and I was sure that it will contaminate any saffron that comes in contact with it.I used some sacrificial damp saffron, left it in for a few hours, and that seems to take care of the smell to a great extent. Also, I noticed that damp saffron strands gets cut in halves and thirds. Whereas dry brittle gets crushed just fine. I have attached photos. The material is some kind of hard plastic.

Works well
Be careful with the top. It opens too easily

Don’t waste your money and time
It doesn’t work for saffron. For other spices maybe but saffron remains in it and also it doesn’t grind properly

Works But Has Some Quality Issues
I honestly have mixed feelings about this grinder. First, I want to get into the grinder itself. It worked great after its testing (after proper washing, but I will get into that later). I had no issue grinding up garlic and the little bit of saffron I had for various recipes. Cleaning was also super easy. I have washed it by hand and have it going through the dishwasher. I also love that it came with a lid for storage. It seems like a nice little mortar pestle with a screen for fine grinding and storing it later. It also feels very good to use, with the grip of the pestle feeling great as you are working. Now, I will explain why I have mixed feelings about this product. For one, it didn't come with any instructions or care instructions. Everything on the box was also in another language, which wasn't very helpful either. Even with Google Translate on my phone, it just said what the various pieces were, and that was it. It also didn't have on the box where it was made, or under one of the packaging stickers, which ruined the box when I tried removing it. My only guess is India from the language pulled up from Google Translate. My largest concern with the product, though, is its overall durability. When the product arrived, it was a bit dirty, with pieces of plastic from the manufacturer and dust inside. I first thought it might have been a return, but that didn't explain the pieces of plastic dust that looked like they came from manufacturing. My only guess is that it may have been a random unit used for quality control. What makes me nervous about the product is that the plastic seal already came with some scratches and damage, and was a bit yellowed. That yellowing seemed to be in some of the manufacturer's pictures. Watching it, the product seems to damage itself when used, with the plastic scratching and having issues each time it is removed (which is necessary for cleaning the screen). While it worked and was very easy to clean, I don't think it is a product that will last long for people who heavily use it in the kitchen.

Not easy to clean way too many parts
Too many pieces for my taste, there’s a screen on the pestle. And the screen to cover the jar so if you’re trying to break up something I like saffron you’re going to get bits and pieces up in Encanto which can be a nightmare to clean because I couldn’t figure out how to get the handle open that being said just remember your buyer beware The little glass jar with the lid is probably the only real saving grace about this. I’m sure I’ll come up with some other use for it then grinding up my stuff from.
