Ozone is a form of oxygen that is deadly to most virus, bacteria, mold and other microbes. This unit produces microbubbles of ozone in the water and this ozonated water it deadly to microbes. It is very easy to operate once installed, it just produces ozone in the water and over time the ozone dissipates and becomes regular oxygen. This is ideal for a cold plunge or hot tub as ozone is not harmful to humans but is harmful to microbes.

Worth the money for an icebath

If you are worried about too much Ozone, don't be. It definitely produces Ozone and you can see the purple glow of generator and smell very faint odor when you look inside output tube when tubing is disconnected. But it's very low levels of Ozone. I am fairly certain you could turn this on continuously and forever with no problems I don't have the equipment to test if it really sterilizing the water, but it does seem to work.

I originally got this to hook up to my 16 ft above ground pool, but after reading more on ozone requirements, I realized it likely wouldn't be large enough to have a meaningful impact. Instead, I 'hacked' it with an aquarium bubbler to make a little ozone generator for odor elimination which I can temporarily use in vehicles, the litter box room, fridges I'm cleaning for rentals, or other unoccupied smelly spaces. I ran a little test with it outputting into my 4 ton central air system, and within a few minutes I could smell ozone throughout the house. Obviously this isn't something you'd want to do, as ozone can cause headaches and throat/lung irritation, but it's certainly a good indicator of how strong this little thing is!

I’m using this unit to help oxidize iron in well water, it is working as anticipated. The unit is well made, and seems to be reliable, I’m really happy with the whole package.

It definitely produces ozone based on that specific smell. For a little reworked 1200 gallon stock tank, it's a great deal for the purpose. Included hardware makes it fairly easy to splice into your pump hoses.
