My daughter wanted to start making candles so I got her this Nicely sized melting pot so she doesn’t have to use the oven top.this thing melts wax quickly and gets hot. Really handy bit of kit and easy to clean when it’s hot but obviously not as easy when the wax cools down. We used some kitchen wet wipes to clean and came up good.

Great little electric melter, I have used it several times to make some candles for gifts (&fun).. you can only make a few candles at a time but for what I want it for that's perfect. Heats the wax really quickly so you do have to keep your eyes on it. Easy to pour. Recommend for hobby candle making but not for a business set up. Would take you ages! Definitely good though and would recommend. It's also dead easy to clean, just wipe with some kitchen roll.

Jug is great. Non stick. Easy to clean. Light but not flimsy. Stands sturdily on a surface and won't tip over if you nudge it. Great non spill pouring. Reasonable capacity for making a few container candles at a time. Very rapid melt on full power but watch it like a hawk. It will boil the wax within seconds of melting if you are distracted. I would suggest a brief burst of full power then cut it to half power. The middle power option is slower but safer. There is no thermostat at this price point so it is on you to heat then use a thermometer. You are going to have to develop a knack of not overheating your wax or you will be standing around waiting for it to cool to a sensible temperature to add scent to and to safely pour. Liquid soy wax goes from just molten to well over 100°C really fast in this. This is to be expected for what is an occasional hobby style device. If you make a few candles as gifts every now and then this will serve you well and is definitely less of a faff than using a saucepan as a water bath for a metal jug. If you have ideas of making large numbers of container candles to start a business you would be better off investing in a thermostat controlled large melter. If you are making a small number of more intricately moulded pillar candles it is ideal.

I've been using a double boiler over a saucepan of water to melt wax for years - it can be slow and messy and splats all over the cooker top as the water simmers. This unit melts the wax unbelievably quickly, keeps it neatly within the bowl of the unit, and pours into the receptacles/moulds without spilling a single drop. I was shocked how fast the wax melted, even on the lower setting, and had to turn it off while I prepared the glass pots and wicks to receive it :) that is the only downside. Once you turn it off and as it cools, you just wipe the non-stick bowl with a paper towel and it's clean for the next batch. Brilliant, totally recommend.

Love love love. Lightweight, great liquid capacity, super fast melting time, easy to clean. Drop free pouring. I've been looking firva decent melting pot forward while. It's not the cheapest, but the quality is excellent. If your a fan of making your own candles at home you want mess dree, easy to use, easy to clean, this is a game changer!

Great for melting wax. Has an easy to pour spout and heats wax quickly. There are two settings for heat to give more control and the inside is easy to clean. It's lightweight and compact, perfect for someone starting out candle making as a hobby. Highly recommended!

Don't buy or use this will burn your wax.
