A psychedelic funkadelic masterpiece
Prince - what can you say about the formerly Purple sex symbol?Well, lets ignore the last 20 years and understand that this album really is one of the greats, from the short and sweet (Christopher Tracey's Parade) to the stone classics (Mountains) there's not a bad track on this. As an introduction to the man you might be better with 1999 or Purple Rain but as a creative peak you can't look much further than this...

Pure class
If you like anything Prince ever recorded then give this album a listen. It's not as commercial as say Diamonds and Pearl's but the songwriting and performance is top notch. Possibly my favourite Prince album.

Highly recommended
Having had this album on cassette a long time ago I was thrilled to find this album on Amazon. Despite my fears that over time I may have improved this album in my head on my first play I was relieved to find it was as good as I had remembered! My favorite Prince album.

Cool
Big fan of Prince. Not the biggest fan of his music. As with most Prince albums, there's a lot of fillers. But this has Mountains on it and it's worth it for that track alone. The film is truly unbearable but thankfully in the 80's Prince was not. You can put this on and be very happy that you won't be subjected to the generic, derivative soul and R&B that he sadly decided to go for come the 90's and so on.Prince ruled the 80's. He brought the funk and R&B to the pop audience. He was unique. He was a genius. And he will be missed for this period when his experimentation with his sound was his greatest achievement

Genius!
Princes music in the 80s was just beautiful. I first heard Parade when i was about 12yrs old and to my ears was amazing. I cant define Parade with words its just a great album. True genius!
