Mainly you buy "insert modules", which are small devices that fit behind the light switch in the back box, rather than light switches themselves. Plug-in switches and dimmers are also available.

Q: Does the app work with iPhone 3GS?

Yes it should work with any Iphone

Q: Is this the V1 or V2 version?

The 2242 model is V1 I believe but you can get the V2 model for UK frequencies from EuroX10 - I have it, it works fine and with the Yonomi skill you can get it to work with Alexa.
