OLED is finally cheap!
Got it on sale for 2150 AED. Been using it for 6 months at max brightness with no regard for burn in (i.e, normal desktop use with tons of static elements). Have yet to see any sign of burn in or dead pixels. Will update this review if such occurs.

Great Value OLED
Was in pristine condition, very much worth the money, the colors and viewing angles look wonderful, do recommend using cleartext on windows tho. The item was delivered much sooner than promised which is a major plus as well, cheers.

After about 30 minutes of use, the screen would go completely black
I received the package in perfect condition, but once I installed the monitor, it seemed to work fine except for the fact that after about 30 minutes of use, the screen would go completely black. Before returning it, I tried everything: updated the drivers and tested the connection with other PCs, but I encountered the same issue. In conclusion, it’s a nice product, but ultimately useless or at least defective from the start. I’ve requested a refund!

Stunning Glossy OLED
One of the best monitors out there, the difference compared to a TN panel which I was using previously is night and day. The glossy OLED screen also makes a huge impact, giving it an edge over standard OLED displays.

If you're here then you should not need any more convincing. Screen is absolutely amazing. Just make sure you don't use Excel on it too often as you'll be disappointed.

The monitor, like all the QD-OLED monitors, has a truly awe-inspiring picture, from inky blacks to extremely bright whites, and truly rich colors - so rich I had to turn the saturation down. Unlike its main competitor, Alienware (Dell), it has a built-in KVM switch and the usual passel of gamer-centric features. (Though most of those are only really useful for first person shooter and Battle Royale games). It provides a full set of cables in their own pouch: A Displayport cable, an HDMI cable, and two USB cables. It has built in safety measures to prevent the evergreen OLED problem, burn-in. It also comes with software that can replicate most of its hardware menu items, but easier and quicker. It even has Picture-in-Picture, so those using this behemoth for work can monitor work and home computers simultaneously. It's a gorgeous piece of hardware and unlike some previous reviewers mine came and worked perfectly, so maybe ASUS got their stuff together. But there are downsides. Some are big ones: -- The KVM switch is awkward to use to say the least. You have to press a button, select using the tiny monitor joystick, and then it switches. And it used to be worse - you had to switch keyboard, mouse, and video source *separately.* That's been fixed with firmware, thank goodness. -- HDR (High Dynamic Range) can be very problematic with the monitor, as using it as an HDR monitor removes almost all ability to control the picture. There are far better HDR monitors out there. -- Some overly adolescent features (such as a bottom-facing projector; they even provide a set of lenses for it, including blanks and of course the ROG logo). -- Only one Displayport input. The others are two HDMI ports, a USB-B port, three USB-A ports and a Thunderbolt/USB-C port, either for using the monitor as a hub or for KVM. -- Documentation, including the official manual, is *abysmal.* That's not just an ASUS problem, that's an industry problem. But expect zero help in, for example, setting up the downward projector - it isn't mentioned in the manual at all. Nor are explanations for a lot of the built in menu options. I had to use Reddit to get most of my info. -- Giant power brick. It's 600W and almost as big as my computer's power supply! -- Availability is also abysmal. This is an *extremely* popular monitor and expect the price to keep going up (July 2024), because it is in such hot demand. Shades of the Great Graphics Card Shortage of 2020-2023. In summary: A great monitor that falls short of being the ultimate.

the sweet spot for gaming really is 1440p and 120hz++. This monitor is amazing. I cant really see the differrence in 4K vs 1440 but I can absolutly see just how amazing the image looks on this glossy OLED. I watched Tron - Ares on this monitor and all I can say is wow. The onscreen menu is simple and easy to use. The G-Sync with VRR worked out the box with my 5090. I had two minor problems with the monitor so far. I didnt use the included stand, I have my own vesa mount. And the included vesa mount attachment for the monitor was VERY difficult to get attached. I was hesitant to really press down hard to get this thing to click in becuase I didnt want to damage the monitor. I did get it in but it took way more force than I was comfortable giving. The second is that you will want to do a pixel cleaning out the box. It takes about 6 mins, but my monitor had a weird line accross the middle of the display. It was very noticable. I was worried my display was damaged in shipping but did the pixel cleaning and it went right away. Happy as I can be. The monitor is very bright in SDR. If you flip it to HDR the brightness falls a little bit but not bad. I have opeted to leave mine in SDR for the moment. My final thoughts are that this is a great monitor. With OLED finally coming down to the range of "normal" monitors its a real no brainer. If youre a gamer 4K makes little sense. Youre pushing your GPU so hard to fill those pixels and that costs you FPS. Just get the 1440p OLED and push have as many pixels to have those FPS soar and look at those games through a world class display. You wont be disappointed. In my picture you can see the OLED vs my old LCD. Both of those monitors are on and showing a black screen. \ 0.o /
