We used this to paint the fire surround next to our log burner. It meets all the criteria we needed and was easy to apply. As it said on the tin there was a strong odour which cleared very quickly and it was quick drying. We closed our internal doors and opened the living room windows and it was no problem at all for the short time they needed to be open-even in January. Very satisfied.

I bought this expecting a true black finish, but the color turned out to be more of a dark grey than black. It’s noticeably lighter than what’s shown or described. That was a bit disappointing since I was aiming for a sleek, deep black look on my BBQ.That said, the paint holds up well to high temperatures and applies smoothly. No peeling or bubbling so far, so it seems to do the job in terms of heat resistance. Just be aware that the color might not match your expectations.

I am a professional decorator and this paint might be good on a white background but found it wanting on a black fireplace , after wire brushing and cleaning with white spirits ,very thin and after 2 coats will need a further 2 coats and drying is far longer than implied ,will drag if not dried properly.
