This unit fixed a broken elbow in my umbrella. If you are not mechanically inclined it may be tough to repair. I had to use a pipe cutting tool to cut the old pieces out. I then had to take just the blade of a hacksaw to cut notches inside the remaining internal tube pieces. They were pressed and glued in. To press the new unit in, I had to clean all the residual glue out of the umbrella shaft. To press it in I placed a soft piece of wood on the floor and pounded it in. I did this on both ends with satisfying results. Make sure you get the umbrella pull cords in place before you do this. Fixing this umbrella was quite an adventure in improvisation as there are no instructions. All in all it worked out for me.

Not near the same quality. Doesn't allow the umbrella to tolt as far. These are a press fit. Had to destroy the remnants of the orignal with a hammer then drive the replacement it with a hammer and a block of wood. I does work
