This is a decent product, for hardcore gamers several quick achievements (there are online guides to get them),for casual chess players, chess beginners & kids may get the most of it. Hardcore chess players may be a bit disappointed.Pros:- Nice presentation, music & animations.- Supports standard chess and plenty of variations including 960 (Fischer Random)- Supports a campaign mode (you can play missions for both good & bad guys), the missions are interesting variations on standard chess (mate in limit of moves with a non standard initial position & material distribution and some extra contraints (ie in one mission your bishop don't capture, but by "capturing" a square when one of your pieces was captured, the piece is resurrected in that position).- A small selection of problems with different constraints.- A mode of infinite problems (capture an undefended piece, do check in one move), which is useful for chess players to polish their reflexes (you start with like 90 seconds, and gain/lost 4 seconds depending if you solve / fail the current problem).Contras:- In the higher (ie more interesting) levels IA is very slow (like 10 minutes per move in level 7). <= this is the main reason for not 5 stars for me.- Cannot save game (this will be missed by serious chess players).- Multiplayer is desert, then again most console based chess games are (online achievements may be difficult). Although can be two players in single console.The animations are fun & similar to Battle Chess (a game that was available in PCs & 8 bit NES).Its a chore to play the higher levels, since it becomes too slow to answer: There are 10 levels 0-9,level 6 plays around 1700 elo. Starting level 7 it plays very slow (before that is almost instantly).Its interesting that all of Fritz Chess (PS3), Chessmaster Live (Xbox 360), Ultra Chess (PS3, Xbox One),play way faster in all the levels. Specially because "Fritz Chess" & "Battle vs Chess" share the same engine (Fritz).As mentioned multiplayer is dead (its an issue for console gamers, hardcore chess players may prefer chess.com, ICC, etc anyway).As for openings, has a marked preference for Caro Kann with Black (also plays Sicilian). With whitewill usually play 1. d4 (I go Kings Indian Defense, then it plays the g3 variation).Games cannot be saved (all the previous mentioned chess games for console support this), this is a boomer for playerswanting to study their previous games (then again you can annotate it somewhere else on the go).I bought it mostly to collect chess games for consoles, but will keep playing it for a while to collect achievements andgetting fun from the variations (my elo is ~1900 and getting fun with the different modes and the main AI).

Jeu en bon état,reçu dans les temps.Le jeu se laisse découvrir.Avantage:possibilité en mode solo d'apprendre les rudiments du jeu d'échecs,en duo:possibilité de rigolé en passant de la stratégie au combat singulier.

This is a preliminary review, but I wanted to share some first impressions. First of all, although the disc & packaging says PAL (European) only, it works perfectly well in an American Xbox 360 -- provided parental controls are disabled or set to allow M+ rated games. It's the same game as  Check VS Mate [Download ], but it's unclear when if ever it will be released with that title for Xbox 360 in the US. My advice is to go ahead and get this international version if you want to play on your console.There is a LOT of game modes/features and variations for both single-player and multiplayer. Here are some examples:* Classic game (just thought I'd mention it in case people think there isn't "normal chess"). Still, classic game has some innovative options for placement such as "Randomized" (for major pieces only), "Tactic" (AI has presets, player has control), "Madness" (all pieces' placements randomized), "Recruit" (point values of pieces, random number and type), and "Madness + Recruit." There are 6 options for boards/settings, and 10 options for AI difficulty.* Battlegrounds - "Slasher" (3rd person action) & "Duel" (2-D side view beat-em-up). I haven't tried them out but the rules and "how to play" appear different for the different modes, so it's likely more than just the perspective difference.* Minigames - Treasure Hunt, Puzzles (various types, lengths, and difficulties)* Campaign Mode - Missions for the Order or Chaos armies (puzzle-like challenges)* Multiplayer features - There is a lot here: Local ("Head-to-Head"), Xbox Live, and System Link multiplayer. Modes include Classic, Reserve (captured pieces join your side), Suicide (goal is to lose all your pieces), Double (move 2 pieces in a turn; "Marseillais" variant, Duel. There is also a "Fog of War" option.* Tutorial - I haven't tried it, but the topics are basic (i.e., how the various chess pieces move). I was kind of hoping for something akin to  Majestic Chess (Jewel Case) . The Campaign Mode (see above) sort of approximates an adventure game, but it's not instructive like Majestic Chess.The animations, etc. are very impressive (miles better than Majestic Chess, which I mentioned above), and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys puzzle or board games. Chi ricorda Battle Chess per computer, primi anni '80?Forse nessuno, ma era molto meglio di questo nonostante fosse stato sviluppato 30 anni fa.Se cercate un gioco serio di scacchi, evitatelo: è una AI relativamente semplice.Se cercate un gioco divertente o diverso/alternativo/moderno di scacchi, evitatelo lo stesso: le animazioni delle battaglie sono poche e ripetitive, per vederle dovete zoomare ogni volta e tenere zoomato altrimenti niente, la risposta ai comandi a volte è dubbia. Inoltre non è possibile personalizzare niente, ad esempio vuoi vedere che battaglia c'è tra pedone che dà scacco matto al re? non lo sai, non puoi settare la scacchiera come vuoi, devi giocarti la partita e sperare che succeda quella combinazione. A parte che le battaglie animate sono tutte praticamente uguali e velocissime. E' solo uno dei tanti esempi di cose tecnicamente semplici ma che mancano, perché nessuno c'ha pensato, perché pensare al giocatore-utente è la cosa che non è stata fatta da chi ha progettato questo giochino. Ah, pedone e alfiere si confondono, ma è un dettaglio nel mare di cose che in questo gioco funzionano male o mancano.Vuoi cambiare colori? non puoi. Vuoi zoomare? Puoi solo a volte, e limitatamente.Cari sviluppatori di questo gioco, prendete battle chess del 1980, guardatevelo e sentetivi umiliati. Poi prendete il vostro prodotto, buttatelo nel cesso, e rifatelo daccapo.

Funciona perfectamente en mi xbox 360.A pesar de ser de importación, los textos e instrucciones pueden seleccionarse en varios idiomas, incluido el español.
