The new Moxie Ankle Gaiter now comes with a new buckle on both sides of the gaiter. This allows you to replace the straps and is fully adjustable to accommodate most types of shoes. It is made with a PPE material which makes it more durable and resistant to wear. An elastic section on the back of the gaiter helps grip the shoe to prevent dirt from getting under the gaiter. It also ensures a better fit for a wide range of shoe sizes. Moxie Ankle Gaiters are designed to prevent dirt and grit from going inside your shoes. This can occur when running, walking or hiking through varying conditions and terrain. Our Design team in Melbourne have years of experience competing in the world adventure racing circuit and obstacle racing events. By applying their experience and knowledge, the aim was to create a durable, lightweight and can fit underneath the shin gaiter or simply on its own. Get complete protection by pairing your Ankle Gaiter with our Shin Gaiter.

Not very tough
I wore a hole in the both left and right sides on first hike out. The fabric is not very tough and as you can see - I wore it through the 'reinforced' section. Good for mud, but does not hold up in rocky and difficult terrain. I previously had REI ankle gators which didn't fit as well as these do, but the REI ones actually wore out at the strap rather than the fabric up top and they logged major miles on Long Trail and the NH Whites. So now I have two new gators with holes - disappointing.I emailed Moxie Gear at their website several days ago to let them know my experience prior to writing this review in hopes they'd offer a replacement or something, but no reply, no response, nada. Radio silence. They do fit nice though, so if you are just using for running or a mud race or something - probably pretty good kit. Sucks for serious terrain though.

If you run trails, you need these
These have far exceeded my expectations. I used them for the first time on a very technical trail run and they still look brand new after I washed them. I ran over rock, tree roots, pavement, everything and they held up beautifully. Most importantly, I never got a speck of dirt in my shoes or socks and they stayed in place. I never had to adjust them and they were in the same place when I finished as when I started. They are also very comfortable and you can forget you’re even wearing them and they breathe and didn’t give me any issues running in the south in August.

In a nutshell, they are AWESOME!
I wear womens new balance vazee summit v2 size 8. Bought the moxie ankle gaiters size small. Wore them with compression socks. Fit was perfect, just trimmed the straps. FYI make sure you trim them into a roundish shape, not straight across, makes it harder to get them through the 2nd keeper. Put them on with the buckles on the outside of your ankles. Great flexion, no chaffing. Ran the Spartan Beast, wish I'd had them for the Super, will wear them for the Sprint to complete this years trifecta. Yep, sprint last cause snowboarding season is starting :) In a nutshell, they are AWESOME! Were not water tight, did not expect them to be. For all 13 miles kept out the sand scree and mud, and was in shin deep loose stuff sliding down vertical slopes. Nothing broke, didnt have to stop to tighten, adjust or dump out shoes. Performed as advertised, pleased with my purchase, lots of people wanted a pair, shamelessly advertised the moxie gear. Would buy again. So sorry no pictures priorities were elsewhere, nature is awesome except when it decides to send a swarm of angry stingy wasps intent on safeguarding their underground batcave... yeah batcave

Sturdy Material and easy to wear
I was initially impressed with the sturdy fabric and the ratio of elastic to polyester for a form fitting and comfortable wear. As I look closer at the seams, I may need to treat them with an aerosol water-proofer to make sure that no moisture gets through to my under layers. I was also curious about the durability of the strap that goes under the footwear. This is my first pair of gaitors but the strap seems thin. They also came with a spare adjusting strap in case the first one gets worn through under the sole of the shoe. I’ve been wearing them with Sketchers on the sidewalk, I am not sure how these are going to perform on a trail with wider boots under them, but I have very high hopes that they will work out just fine.

Best Gaiters out there
Been using the Moxie Gaiters for OCR the last 2 years. I've tried several different kinds and these stay secured to your shoes the best. The old Moxie model was great but the band on the bottom kept ripping. I went through 2 pairs in 1 year. Moxie fixed the problem and the gaiters work better than ever. I wore 1 pair during the 24-hour OCR race World's Toughest Mudder. They lasted the whole race and kept everything out of my shoes...exactly what I wanted them to do. So I'd call it a successful product.

Works Great with My High Top Boots on Sandy Coastal Terrain
I had it for a week at coastal hike in Portugal on rocky, dusty and sandy (Oh! Sandy!!!) terrain. It worked great and easy to clean. It fits nicely over my waterproof high top boots; kept the sand away from sneaking inside my shoes and socks. It came with extra red straps! Highly recommended.

Fits and keeps the crap out
I bought these after my first Spartan due to the water obstacles and how much crap got in my shoe. I have worn them on a few trail runs and one more Spartan and they do what they are supposed to do. I had a hard time taking them off post Spartan but got around it by just taking off the shoe. I have a size 8.5 sneaker and got a small gator.

Keeps the sand out!
I like to walk around my pond when my back permits and I always get rocks and sand in my sneakers. These solve that problem quite nicely. I actually leave the red under-straps off to make it even easier to put on and take off and they still work great. They even come with extra under-straps as they go under your show and will wear out over time.
