Cheap blade or superior cutter your choice
Expensive when compared to blades however it does a great job. As stated in other reviews it does dig into caulking and does not cut right into corners, but it does give a far superior finish than a blade as it gives a uniform cut every time. I am glad that I took the plunge and purchased, as it does reduce the amount of time trimming without snagging as a blunt blade can. Its a real shame that I did not buy one of these many years ago, I thought that it was to expensive and a gimmick. Not sure how long batteries last as I am using rechargeable ones.

Hooray, at last a product that raises my skill profile.
I have always been a keen diyer for the last 50yrs, Plumbing, electrical, car mechanics etc I have had no problems, however, wallpapering like plastering has not been my forte, I had no problem hanging the paper but found straight line trimming difficult. My wife has a detailed eye and would clock any deviation along the ceiling or skirting cuts which I admit to being often. This tool, German I think, is the viagra of wallpapering, I can now effortlessly make straight cuts along ceilings door frames etc to the satisfaction of my wife who is so thrilled as to offer my services to her friends.Thank you Aris!!

Junk.
I am a painter and decorator. I took a punt on this gadget after watching the accompanying video. I decided that if I was to paper a whole room, the time this might save could equate to an hour over one day. Over the course of my year, that could add up to days. Therefore £20 or so is worth a gamble.Couple of problems:1.as you pull (or push) the thing along while it cuts, there is a sharp edge that catches the angle of where your wall meets the skirting board (for example) and it can snag, particularly if you have previously run caulk along said edge. It just loves digging into (set) caulk.2. The accuracy of your cut depends on the angle which you hold it. Sounds ok, right? But if you wobble, even a bit, you will end up with an uneven cut. So you really can't use this device for anything other than lining paper. Even then, you might have to go back over your edges with caulk again. So, I took a punt and I'm very firmly suggesting you learn from my experience. You can't trust this thing so don't bother.

Really excellent cutter, Poor instructions
This is a really great piece of kit - but be aware of limitations. The instructions are brief so the limitations are not immediately obvious.1) Don't push hard, or the cutter will catch on imperfections and gaps, or even embed in plaster.2) Intended to cut wallpaper that isn't pressed down, there must be a reasonable gap (3 - 5 mm) between the paper and the surface you are fixing it to3) Like any tool practice makes perfect, so for an occasional user don't expect miracles. The on-line video shows skills that will require practice.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN SCISSORS
Borrowed from my brother in law with a PROMISE not to break it as he said it was the best wallpapering tool he had ever bought. Used it, brilliant, lovely straight edges in seconds, dropped it and BROKE it !!! hence the buying of a replacement. Need to get one for myself next, such a simple and time saving brilliant tool.
