Gripping spicy monster romance
A sci-fi monster romance that had me laughing with the fish puns and sassy banter, and hooked from start to finish with the intriguing plot, and suspense.Jules is a former model now introverted recluse who hides herself away, with only her best friend Kate and her online mysterious friend Mack to keep her sane. After exchanging photos Jules suspects Mack is hiding something, and when he deletes his account she decides to track him down and find answers, especially with growing tension and rumours of fish monsters.Jules is sassy, bold, determined and understanding (even if she is a stalker), and Mack is a grumpy cinnamon roll you can't help but love. This has some intense drama, creepy twists, compelling sci-fi elements, and although it explores dark themes, overall it was an uplifting story about transformation, acceptance and love.

Good read.
Stars 3.5Spice 1.5This was a different approach to the monster bookGood concept and liked the characters but feel as though they could have gone further with the story specifically at the end and more explanation into the monsters and how they came about.Hopefully, there will be a continuation to the story.

The cover art is very deceiving
It IS a good story, but it’s a bit too cutesy for me. The cover art had me thinking this book would be darker than it really is. At no point does he have her underwater with his hand over her mouth. Nothing even close. It looks like he’s dangerous and infatuated with her but he’s actually soft and kind of…boring, for lack of a better word. It’s actually sweet but too innocent. I guess you really can’t judge a book by the cover. Now I’m on a mission to and find a darker story about fish daddies.

Breathless - 4.75⭐️
📖Book Review📖BreathlessWow just wow this book was amazing, I loved it, I found it very relatable and I needed to know more, it was addictive and I couldn’t put it down. Also the ending was so goodIt was refreshing to see how cat wrote about us the in-depth thoughts and feelings of agoraphobia and mental health and how some people struggle behind closed doors. It was nice to see that written in a book and to not feel alone in our struggles. When jules started to go out her apartment I felt so happy and proud of her as I know exactly how she felt in that moment with wanting to stay in her safe space but I’m glad she pushed herself to go out xIt was nice to see the progression of jules and Mack’s relationshipThe book reminded me a lot of the movie ‘the shape of water’. I personally have not watched the whole movie, I’ve only seen parts of it, but from the parts I did see, the book and the film are pretty similar.I’m only rating it 4.75 stars as I feel some parts aka Mack and jules’ relationship was a bit rushed other then that it was great.4.75⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫3.5🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Interesting!
I was a bit dubious to read this book as I’ve never really been into fish or mer people but OMG it was such a good read! The build up to all the action towards the end was fantastic and kept me on the edge of my seat.Really enjoyable.

Good, slow burn, water monster romance.
Nice read, slow burn but decent spice towards the end. First book I've read regarding a romance with water monster.

I read a LOT of monster romance. This is one of my absolute favourites.
My only gripe is wish the author wrote other monster romance books ! Incredible poetic writing, great story beats and a real page Turner I didn't expect , not to mention the smut and tension are perfect. If you're into fishmen a must- read !

Came to me on a reddit advert
The cover and description on reddit was quite deceiving for me. I expected a dark romance and got a cutsey back to front little mermaid retelling. It's a good book and I did finish, I enjoyed it immensely, it just wasn't what I was expecting from this.
