ProfiCare PC-HTH 3003 3in1 ion drying hood, hair dryer and curling brush in one, incl. practical storage bag, white

This was a replacement for another hairdryer of a different name which was basically the same but the hairdryer was a bit smaller and a the hood was more pliable plastic (almost like thin rubber). It was delivered in good time but I don’t remember any specific instructions as to when it would arrive. The Amazon advert for it was slightly inaccurate in the it said the item only had a hot switch and a cold switch. This is not true as there is one other hot switch, just like my old hairdryer. It comes in a net bag with the hairdryer, a slim nozzle and a brush for use with it. The hood was well compacted, but as it is stiffer than my old one, although just the same lin design, it does not all fit in the bag after use, so I have to use the old bag as well. So far it is working well and I don’t find it too hot at all, unlike another review I’ve seen for the hairdryer. I only surmised the hood might split at the seams in time and this might not be the case at all. I would not hesitate to get another one. In time it may give up like the other one did and run hot and keep stopping, but you cannot take it apart to clean the motor. The old one lasted quite a time.

In all my years buying from Amazon I have never written a negative review. But today I have no choice. This item was shown on the Amazon UK web site, but when delivered had a European plug. There was no adaptor included so the obvious thing to do was to cut off the European plug and to connect it instead to a 3 pin UK plug. However, it transpired that the hair dryer was faulty. There was an internal rattle which was caused by what appeared to be a broken piece of plastic inside the item. I managed to recover it, but then when my wife used the item again, there was a bang and the item stopped working altogether. I contacted Amazon in order to return what was clearly a faulty product and was in turn told that I needed to pay most of the cost of the return carriage charge to Germany. That was bad enough but once Sotel Electonics were aware that I had changed the plug, they told me that the warranty was now void. Please be aware that the hair dryer had only been used twice. I am not complaining that the malfunction occurred; no company can guarantee that such things will not happen. My criticism is the way they have responded to a genuine claim. They have saved £38, but at what cost to their reputation? I rest my case.

Ideal for drying hair with a few rollers in,gets a bit hotter than a previous one I had now has a British 3 pin plug which is easier than using an adaptor

It isn’t very hot and is VERY loud so works if you only need to dry damp hair.

Motor overheated on first time using the hood after a few minutes. Expensive to return. Not worth it at all.

This product has thought of everything the plug has 3 pin over 2 pin top quality have used the brush and look forward to using the cover next time I put rollers in 😁

Useless, absolute waste of money..can hardly dry my hair, if not at all.. may need to sit on it for 24 hrs to get minimum result…very disappointed..not recommended 0
