Amazing deal
I've got about 20 hours on this generator so far - just enough to warrant an oil change next time I use it. Used mainly propane for break-in period. Starts every single time literally within seconds, no hassle, no fuss.. So far I'm thrilled. These are four things that NO other generator on the market right now combines into a single package: 1. >10kW, 2. Tri-fuel, 3. Inverter, 4. Has a remote start and ATS port - it even comes with a cable to hook up to your ATS or home automation system (dry contact). It's not that quiet compared to e.g. a Predator 9500 but honestly, not THAT much louder. Open frame generators are going to do that and it's still quieter than a Champion I'm replacing with it. And it comes with some nice little bonus features, like a magnetic dipstick (usually a $10 addon you always have to buy because who runs a generator without one?) and a waterproof cover! One very small complaint is that nearly every generator I've ever bought has come with the first bottle of oil you need to add. This does not. Make sure you have a quart of 10W30 before you start hooking it up.I highly recommend it and look forward to many years of strong usage with it! If you’re in the fence I hope this review helps you!

A Very Nice Generator (updated 3/20)
After weeks of frustration with the shipper, the GENMAX gm10500ietc generator finally was delivered. The delivery itself went quick and easy. Thumbs up to the delivery team. Getting the shipper to actually make the delivery is where the frustration came from. Word of advice to buyers; once the item has made it to the local distribution hub/last mile delivery point, be proactive on scheduling delivery, don't wait for them to call. Once I called and scheduled delivery, I had the item within a few days. Now to the generator:The GENMAX gm10500ietc was very well packaged and the generator was delivered undamaged. After unpacking, saw lacking was a User Manual. Reached out to GENMAXservice via email and got a reply within a few hours basically saying GENMAX has gone paperless (whether or not this is true, I'd like to hear from other reviewers in this regards) and the User Manual can be viewed online. If I wanted a printed User Manual, they'll send one out after providing proof-of-purchase, serial number and address, So, thumbs up to GENMAXservice for their prompt reply and willingness to sending out a User Manual. Also worth noting: the generator also did not come with the assorted plugs as seen in the listing or viewed in some unboxing videos which is okay. By the time you purchased a length of cord to use with the plugs, you could just as well purchase a premade cord ready to use out of the box. Did come with a quart of 10w30 motor oil tho, which I found surprising. For those wanting to know, the unit did come with a magnetic tipped dipstick so no need purchasing an after-market.After adding oil, connecting the battery and hooking up generator to propane, the generator fired right up. For break-in, ran the gm10500ietc for 2 hours with a couple of space heaters connected to the 30 amp/240 outlet, varying the load, with ECO mode on or off, heat gun plugged into the gfi outlets, the generator didn't miss a beat. Ran smoothly, rpm increased/decreased as the demand increased/decreased. First used the push button to start/shut down and then tried the remote. Remote worked perfectly. Did not need to add batteries or pair up the device. After running for 2 hours, weighed the 40# propane tank, did the math and came up with 3 lbs was used in that time.Still have some more break-in time to do before first oil change. So far, with the GENMAX gm10500ietc, everything is looking good and am confident I'll get many years of use.Went with 4 stars and not 5 due to the frustration experienced with delivery. If I could go with half stars, would of went 4 1/2 out of 5. It wasn't what I was expecting. Guess I'm too used to Amazon delivery going flawless nearly everytime.Update March 20, 2025GOT THE JOB DONE!!!Due to high winds in the area, power was knocked out for most of the day. Pulled the 10500 out of storage and hooked up to house propane, started right up as I expected it would do and was able to power the whole house during the outage. Granted, being a moderate day, didn't need heat or AC and kept the water heater shutoff during the outage so the demand wasn't as great as it could of been. Am on a well tho and had no problems with lack of water. Used the microwave, coffee maker and toaster throughout the day. No problems there either. All in all, the generator ran for over 6 continuous hours with ECO set to ON with no problems whatsoever. Son commented on how quiet the generator was and how you hardly knew we were on backup power. So for powering through an outage like a champ, this generator regains it's lost Star and is now rated 5 Stars in my book.

It's exactly what I was hoping for
After tons and tons of research, I finally landed on this Genmax as it ticked all my boxes for a generator that could run on natural gas, was a quieter and more fuel efficient inverter generator, and could power my whole house with watts to spare. After performing a 5 hour break in period and using it for a couple short outages, I'm really happy with it.It arrived safely in pretty bullet proof packaging with some beefy pieces of wood on either side. The unboxing was nice, it came with a bunch of accessories like a cover, NG hose, propane hose, bonding plug, and magnetic dipstick. The build quality feels really high and having a generator with an actual oil filter is another nice feature to provide some peace of mind that metal shards aren't circulating around the engine. I love that it comes with a leave-in battery charger so it'll always be ready for an outage instead of finding that it's drained if you haven't run it for a few months. For actual usage, it's been a breeze. If it's starting up cold on natural gas, it sometimes takes a second press of the electric start button because it needs to bleed the air out of the line, but then it starts right up and runs great. The readout is super nice and having the wattage draw readout is really handy to get a feel for how much your house is actually pulling. Plus it has a handy little LED light on the front panel so you can see what you're doing in the dark!It feeds into my panel with a 50 amp inlet and an interlock kit with zero issues. Plus it's floating neutral from the factory, so you don't have to crack it open to convert it like many other bonded neutral units if you're using it for home backup.

Defective unit.
Quick delivery after purchase. Inspection after unboxing was OK but noted 2 hrs on display and no owners manual. Filled oil & connected battery and full LPG tank. After start and ~10 minutes @ low idle to warm up I started adding different loads (lights, small appliances, refrig, freezer, etc). All was good for ~ 1 hr when generator would severely bog then surge when a refrig or freezer compressor would start from a base generator load of 600w to 700w. It did this with low idle switch ON or OFF. With switch OFF the surge would stop output with OVERLOAD warning light illuminating. Reset was normal, but after 5 such events I disconnected and shut down the generator. Too much potential damage to computer and appliances. Unsatisfactory performance from this unit. Now awaiting refund.
