I bought this solar charger to avoid buying extra battery and trying to avoid the hassle of charging batteries. The installation was really easy, my. door bell fits perfectly and since day one this has been working perfectly. I have no issue so far, the door bell is always on and the batter always more than 95% charge. I recommend this product is you don't want to buy additional batteries and void wiring your doorbell.

Just to shut up all the naysayers, this charger works AWESOME! Mine doesn't get ANY direct sunlight. I connected it to my Ring camera when my battery was 3%. It did require a couple months, but day by day, little by little, it eventually charged up to 78% where it has remained constant ever since.

I bought this solar charger for my ring doorbell 2020 release because I'm unable to wire mine in. So I searched Amazon for something to use so that I didn't have to continuously take down my ring doorbell to charge, because let's just say that defeats the purpose of having it, right? So I eventually came across this solar charger for it, and couldn't be happier. I mean this thing works awesome and is so simple to put on, & also has an adjustable solar panel, so that u can move it up or down to set it in the right spot to get enough sun . So if ur looking for a quick, easy, and not so expensive choice to keep ur video doorbell recording at all times then this device is for u, & I promise you won't regret it. Definitely worth every penny, and very happy I went with this product.

I had a brand solar charger that stopped working at just under 2 years. It had 3 small panels, left right and top. I ordered this one due to price, desperation and hope.It is quite a bit larger than I anticipated (I hadn't looked at dimensions before ordering). Since I already had one installed, the holes were already there. I removed the old and placed this on, included screws worked well. Somehow the backplate for my ring was missing a screw, two after I lost one when removing it from the old panel. Thankfully, this unit included those small screw I needed. They even had an extra! Perfect for people like me (lots of foliage in the area)My battery was hanging on at 3% when I installed this after sunset. By the following sunset, 57%. My location IS in a high sun spot, but I expected 20's for percentage. After a few days, it's still 57% so I'm assuming it's a combination of rainy weather and poor battery. I'm guessing my battery doesn't hold full charge due to age (4 years of use).We will see what happens at the end of this week, but I'm very happy with it's function.Also, being able to angle the top panel is beneficial!

I have this on my ring 2 door bell. It is easy to setup and does a great job of keeping my battery charged. I am constantly at 70-80 (by design it does not over charge your battery). The name brand charger may be smaller but you will pay way more for it.

I had gotten tired of swapping the battery on my doorbell every couple of months so decided to try this out. I saw the other version of this with just the solar panels on the sides and not the top, which does look much better but I had doubts that those small panels could add any significant charge to a battery that takes several hours to charge when connected to wall charger. This one does seem to do the trick. It charged about 2% from my starting level of 72% right away and indirect sunlight. I thought it stopped working when I checked it later while in full sun and it stopped charging at about 76% or so. I then read the details in the ring app that as a battery life protection feature the doorbell will actually slow or stop the charging around 80% so that the battery will have a longer lifespan. The solar panel was working fine, the doorbell was shutting off it's charging capability once it topped out near 80%. So far so good! It seems to work just fine. Now I can enable some of the features I previously turned off because they used too much battery. See the attached photos highlighting the solar panel status. No sun = not connected. Sun and battery = connected but not charging. Sun and lightning bolt battery = connected and solar charging.I will say I wish the large solar panel was able to be oriented at the bottom of the doorbell instead of the top. If you're mounting this on lap siding the arm that holds the upper panel bumps against the ridge of the siding and causes a bit of a gap behind the rest of the unit instead of being flush against the wall.

There was a few days we didn’t have hardly any sun and the battery kept draining. I took the ring bell off and the little piece that goes into the back of the doorbell to charge it broke off. I called Amazon and they sent me out a replacement. I plugged the back piece in, and it didn’t show it was charging by the solar so I unplugged it and then the piece broke off again. Called Amazon again, they said they couldn’t do a replacement but can do a refund. I’m going to try to order it again and see what happens. I really love the concept of this and when it was working, it was doing a good job. The battery was draining on the faster side because I had the motion sensitivity all the way up. Never knew how busy my street was until I had this. I really want this to work so I can keep my motion detection on all the time because of the neighborhood I live in. Has this happened to anyone else?? Maybe third times a charm?UPDATE: After the piece broke I contacted Amazon and they replaced the unit. It came in the next day and the same piece broke off. Called Amazon again and they refunded me and I decided to buy an another one. Am I a sucker? Maybe but I truly love the concept of solar charger. Got the other one in and so far so good. 🙏🏻🤞🏻There were DAYS we had no sun and I had to bring it in to charge the doorbell but that’s understandable.I love this product and even though I’ve had a few issues, I still recommend it. Also, their customer service is spectacular! They address your concerns and get back to you just about immediately.Will be ordering another one soon
