This item was purchased to compliment my carving chisels. As advised this type of hammer will not damage the chisel head and also gives a comfortable feel when handling.

Nice and sturdy

Depending on how much you use your maul, maybe one to avoid. Used this on one project and half way through punching stitch holes it fell apart on me, after reassembling, the handle cracked.I bought one from this listing back in 2018, and its lasted me up until 2025... With heavy use! When my original hammer broke, I bought a replacement from this same listing thinking it was a good buy. It broke on the first project, I taped it up, glued it together and it lasted an extra few days.Thinking it was just an out lier, I bought a replacement. Again, first project and the handles cracked.I've ordered a proper maul from a good craftsman.Just buy a proper tool.

Head is held onto the handle by a threaded screww and nut. This wasloose when first used, but appears to be ok now that it has been tightened

Everything ok let down by wooden handle looked like a camouflage stained handle dark in some parts(stain) and clear vanished in others so don't go by the picture had to sand an refinnish the handle on mine
