Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE EU (Pack of 2)

Bought as a way to provide rj45 to the other side of the room without running cables. For this I would be using AP mode and relying on the wireless backhaul of the ax3000.Initial setup was fairly simple and the 2nd device connected from 4m away. Connected a lan cable and everything worked.... For an hour.Both devices regularly show an orange light. As I understand it this is because it pings the internet to test for a connection.From any device connected to the Xiaomi units, pings fail 50% of the time.Same test from any other router, modem or switch passes 100%. When the ping fails, so do the devices until a successful ping. It even fails consistently to ping devices on the LAN.Speed tests are inconsistent and regularly fail connecting to server. No speedtest has been faster than my 5 year old wifi5 AP.Useless*Now tried as primary router (pppoe) and results were the same.**Running with a wired backhaul and everything works but that ruins the whole point of a mesh network for me.
