I needed to step down the voltage for a direct connection to a dash cam. It needed to go from 12v to 5v. After I wired everything up, I found that voltage was indeed going to the unit but had zero output. What an inconvenience. I didn't even try the other one. I'm returning it and will look for other brands and hope for better luck.
