Great product for helping with body recomp and digestion.

Probably overpriced, but legitimately improves digestion and body composition IF YOU eat well and exercise along with it.

I ordered these because I am in my 50s now and I feel that my body isn’t recovering the way it used to. I do a lot of physical work with constantly renovating properties in our real estate portfolio. My knees are always bothering me, my back is always sore and I just don’t seem to do things or recover from doing things the way I used to. As I was browsing items on Amazon, I came across these and the description got my attention. I feel that I am always having difficulty focusing anymore. I’m constantly forgetting things, I don’t have the endurance that I used to any longer and I’m just slowing down a lot. I started wearing readers or glasses about nine months or so ago. The description for this supplement spoke to me and seems to address issues that I have been having. I figured it was worth trying them. I’ve been taking these for about two weeks now and I have no idea if they are helping. What I’ve learned from other supplements that I take is that you never really know if they work or not. There’s no light switch that suddenly makes you feel better, focus more or anything like that. It’s a long journey that takes a year or so to get good results (in my opinion). Change happens so slowly and gradually overtime that you don’t actually realize it’s occurring until you look back and realize wow, I don’t have those issues anymore. The directions for these say to take two capsules once a day. With the other medications and supplements I take, two of these at a time seemed like a bit much, so I take one capsule twice a day instead. I figured that as long as I am getting the same dose each day it shouldn’t matter how often I take them. I can say there’s absolutely no flavor or bad taste to these whatsoever. They never affect me in a negative way and they’re easy to swallow. They do seem to be REALLY expensive to me, so if after six months if they don’t seem to be making any difference for me, I will not continue to take them. I figured it was worth a try and I’m willing to take the risk for a short time to give them a chance.

Over the past two years, I've tried dozens of vitamins and supplements, primarily those with energy and brain-boosting benefits. I no longer wait days for a positive benefit. If I don't feel something good after an hour or so at the recommended Serving Size dosage, then I'm done with it. Some have performed very well, and I've reordered them. I also experienced no noticeable effect from some of them. But I've never had one give me a negative experience until now. I initially take just one capsule or tablet of a new supplement, regardless of the recommended Serving Size, until I'm sure there are no adverse effects. Oddly enough, this has allowed me to find supplements that provide me with energy and enhanced focus when taking only one capsule or tablet instead of the recommended two or three. Of course, everyone's body is different. When I took only one of these, "Nootropics Depot Cyanidin 3-Glucoside Capsules," instead of the Serving Size of two, I did not have a positive experience. I started feeling brain fog and no motivation to do anything. I'm not used to this type of reaction. I'm finishing up a 20k-word book right now, and I've been taking reliable supplements and drinking a few cups of coffee daily (about 50 mg of caffeine per cup). After taking the initial capsule of this supplement, I just stared at my laptop screen for about 30 minutes. I decided to drink a cup of coffee, but I still felt like I'd been hypnotized. I always need to stay busy, so I'm not accustomed to being in a coma-like trance. This is the first "Cyanidin 3-Glucoside" supplement I've ever seen, so I will be doing some research before I even think of taking another of these strong-smelling capsules. I can't afford to be sitting around in a stupor with deadlines to meet. Maybe I was just having a bad day? I did take a Quercetin supplement from this company last year, and I credit it with helping me through a period of prostate swelling and pain. So, if you're taking these Cyanidin 3-Glucoside capsules and benefitting from them, I'm happy for you. Just be aware that if you find yourself having no motivation and serious brain fog, these could be causing it.

SHORTER REVIEW: To me, supplement safety comes first. My Gold Standard for supplements includes Accountability (via GMP certification/3rd party lab testing), Transparency and Quality. Nootropics Depot is based in Arizona, and they claim to ensure quality via both their own ISO accredited labs and via 3rd party lab testing (per their Website). They are not 3rd party GMP certified as far as I can discover, but they do claim to follow current Good Manufacturing Practices. REALLY CHATTY REVIEW: Accountability: Nootropics Depot claims to do ISO (International Organization for Standardization) testing and third party lab testing to assure quality control. They also claim to use Current Good Manufacturing Practices, but I don't see claims of being third party GMP certified. I get that. It's expensive and they've got their own lab. Transparency: Per the company, "We started Nootropics Depot in 2013 with one mission: to revolutionize the lab testing and quality control standards of the supplement industry." I've never seen a virtual 360 degree tour of a lab like theirs. They have had recent (2020) troubles with the FDA, my admittedly poor understanding is that the FDA decided to enforce laws about certain synthetic Nootropic supplements (racetams) being drugs instead of supplements? That's above my pay grade, but it wouldn't pertain to this natural product, except that maybe if Nootropics Depot had had more 3rd party scrutiny they'd have avoided that headache? Who knows. Quality : This Black Rice Cyanidin 3-Glucoside supplement comes in a professional appearing container with a challenging safety seal. Just push down and turn the lid (briefly), then stop pushing and unscrew (mine wouldn't come off until I stopped pushing down). The capsules are black, have minimal scent and are and easy to swallow. This is a one month supply. I don't see any indication that Nootropics Depot's own labs plus third party testing aren't adequate to ensure product safety. That said, I'm not an expert, and third party GMP certification is still my Gold standard (which is part of the reason I awarded 4 stars instead of 5).
