Clear and large image
This digital magnifier is quite nice. It is easy to use and produces a very clear and large image. It has autofocus that works quite fast and it is very responsive and has a lot of options for false coloring too.

Not Good for Book Reading
I purchased this for my wife who has macular degeneration. My wife is a book reader and I purchased this hoping it would help. Why the magnification and features were well thought out and work well, I can not recommend it for reading books. The view finder area is too small. After reading one line of text you have to move the device back to read the next line and end up losing your place. There are little feet/bumps under the magnifier that keep it slightly above what you are reading. When you slide the magnifier accross the book page those little bumps get caught on the edge of the page, which 8is very frustrating. It is good for occasional use, but it is definitely no good for book reading. I had to return it.

Interesting gadget...
I wanted a plain old magnifying glass and thought I'd give this a try. It does a pretty good job. Probably better than most smart phones do. It's got some decent magnification. It will be in my bag and get only occasional use so I'm hoping the batteries hold out.

Poor layout
I wamted to like it. I am severely visually impaired, and have used these types of digital magnifiers before, and am searching for a new one since my old one seems to have grown legs and walked off. Overall ut works ok, it does the main job of magnifying what's in the page, however, there are some major drawbacks that made it a no go for me. 1) The camera is on the side- so it made it funding what you needed less intuitive and frustrating. 2) The camera is on the side- right where the natural place to hold it is. You have to hold it in you fingers from the top and bottom, where you risk accidentally pushing buttons. 3) It is noisy. Maybe some people like that feature, it plays a little jingle on bootup and shutdown, and tells you every time you press the buttons- zoom in, zoom in, zoom in, zoom in...for me, it's just obnoxious, especially if I am out in public. 4) I couldn't figure out how the advertised writing stand actually worked. If you flip it down, and hold the device at the angle it suggests, the page is blury and I couldn't see where to wrote. The instructions only said to flip down the writing tab- nothing more.
