Squid ink for cooking, yum!
Amazing flavour. I have used this on pasta and rice and it adds a delicious, seafood flavour that I love! Do be aware it will make your food black and it can eb a bit tricky to get off clothes so just be gentle when using it. A little goes a long way too so don't over do it. When used right, it provides delicious flavour and makes dishes look very weird but also interesting at the same time!!

Getting creative
Easy to use and adds a great flavour to rice and pasta. The ink is quite strong and so only needs a little amount, the colouring is absorbed nicely with no sticky residues. top quality looks and feels great , for the price can’t fault it, 10 out of 10 from me very happy indeed and would purchase again

Great for squid ink pasta
I've always wanted to try my hand at squid ink pasta and risotto, as the end result looks so dramatic! This little pot of squid ink is perfect for the task, and I've had fun creating a range of dishes with black rice and pasta! it can be added to anything, and acts as a natural food dye. I am thinking of making my next project black ice-cream!A good quality, versatile product - I am very pleased with it.

Good colour and consistency, limited taste
The colour is really good and it has a thick consistency, which is good. However, the taste is quite plain. I would expecting something a bit more fish in taste. If your need is mostly to give colour to food, this works quite well, but it does not provide as much flavour as others I have used.

Amazing with pasta or rice
This squid ink works very well with both pasta and rice. The colour is dark and sticks with no issues. It has a nice flavour which works well with any seafood.Overall I would say it's a pretty great squid ink. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great cooked into rice or pasta, or added to a fresh pasta mix - good for entertaining
This review is for "Alises 90g Squid (Cuttlefish) Ink Jar, 90g of ready to eat, edible Ink, nero di seppia."You get quite a good quantity of squid ink in this jar, and for us, it is certainly enough to outlast the 30-day refrigerated shelf-life after opening. We only use a few grams each time, and dont want to have black food every day so we came up with a solution. On opening the jar, we put about three quarters of the ink into three little gripseal bags and popped them in the freezer. The rest stays in the fridge and we'll use it for up to a month. Then when the jar has been washed out, we will pop one frozen portion in the jar and that gives us another month's-worth in the fridge and ready to use.We enjoyed having rice cooked with squid ink in the water, and pasta too. The extra flavour is just a little briny, but the colour is great. The potatoes we cooked in black water didnt look so good, however. I think the best use is to put it in pasta while it is being made, so its time for us to get the durum flour out and make some fresh black pasta - great for entertaining. The price at the time of review was around £7 for a jar, although the seller also has twin packs for around £9 which is fantastic value.
