These work perfectly for panel lining, with little mess unlike the pour type markers. It's thin enough to get in the lines without brushing too much on the sides, and if you make a mistake it comes with clean up tools! So easy to use as a beginner, and I love them for touching up my figures!

As someone who builds models of realistic subjects rather than Gundam, I would make a couple of observations. First, it's amazing what absolutely wonderful tools and accessories are marketed to the Gundam community. This is really a luxury item. The markers work wonderfully to achieve the exact effect that's advertised.Second observation, "panel lines" are rarely stark and consistent in appearance on real objects. Even if I were building science fiction subjects, I would not use these for "panel lines". In my opinion, they excel at exactly one thing: creating a depth effect on a part that doesn't properly represent depth on the modeled object in a convincing way. As such, I will use them sparingly for that specific need. I might even argue that the need for a black color as opposed to the very useful gray pen will be very rare indeed.From now on, I'll keep an eye out for Gundam specialty items. Great stuff!

Found the black and gray to be nigh indistinguishable initially, have to go over the black a couple times. Maybe its my surface.Am happy overall. Been using them to detail some minis.
